What have you done to your square lately??

I noticed you put in greasable joints. That's great and all... but I've always wondered why that is a popular choice. Seems most sealed u-joints last 150K miles and maybe more if they aren't abused. Probably the same as greasable IF someone greases them consistently. And if you don't grease...

What have you done to your square lately??

I haven't been saying much about my square body because it is no longer strictly a square body. It's a '78 3/4 Chevy underneath, chassis and drive train... but the M37 from my avatar is slowly replacing the rusted out Chevy body. Not sure how you guys might think about that. But I had to choose...

I shot a Jeep once. I'm not proud of it, but it made a nice mount.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

Yeah, first thing I do with any space I'm going to use is build shelving. I don't want anything cluttering up the spaces I need to walk comfortably. Along the same lines... my tools have a place to be, and they are where I know they should be. I have a wheeled cart for working from and tools go...

Blow dryer or heat gun, and a razor blade. Nail polish or mineral spirits to remove any adhesive.

I buy my wipers from R0ck Auto in bulk to avoid shipping charges. I particularly like Bosch when they have them. I've gotten wipers for as little as $2.50 a pair although they usually go about $5/6.

What have you done to your square lately??

Ain't that the truth... My wife and I got tickets to have some things appraised on the Antiques Roadshow. One of the things I took was a legitimate Cannonball hat signed by Brock Yates, supported by some authenticating information. The initial guy we showed it to was excited. He wanted to do an...

What have you done to your square lately??

I was on a trip and had to buy rear shocks on a truck with a factory two inch lift, and went to two places where each person I talked to handed me off to another person because it was too hard. (whimper) So I did a temporary repair on the road, got home, and my local Napa was the same situation...

What have you done to your square lately??

I bought one of those sixty dollar stick welders from Amazon and I have to say it's proven to be a wonderful little machine. My favorite welder so far.

Just DON'T turn the adjusting screws down tight. A lot of carbs have been ruined by the brass adjusting screws being turned down and they score, and the carb will never adjust correctly after that.

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

So do I. Old cars used to be cheap. Anything over a hundred thousand miles was considered worn out... but usually had many miles in it. My first three cars cost less than a hundred dollars in TOTAL. A '54 Olds that ran great and was in great shape except for a dent in the side... $20.00. A '57...

    Let’s see your memorabilia?!

It's kind of interesting how advertising has become so comfortable that people will buy it as a collector's item. There are a lot of things I find interesting, and collectable... but advertising isn't one of them. Personally, I'd like to know what would happen if advertising was made entirely...

What have you done to your square lately??

I wish you could buy kits with the specific ends/connections for a specific vehicle... and no wiring. It's easy to build a harness but the extras, especially when they are different from the original, make it more difficult.

What have you done to your square lately??

I'm with you... The worst thing I ever did to a car was put an expensive paint job on it. I was nervous to drive it, nervous to park it, and nervous to own it in the end. I want to drive what I own and enjoy it. Buffing paint and worrying about dust doesn't bring much joy...

What have you done to your square lately??

I built a '70 Chev stepside with my son, and he liked drop-shifting to do burnouts... and breaking transmissions. I told him the tranny problems were his to pay for and it took him two times before he realized drop shifting was maybe a bad idea.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a body lift they've removed and don't need anymore? I need the front cushions in particular but I could use all four cab cushions.
