    Bruce, that is the majority of steps I did leading me to posting my findings. Dialback timing I have and use. TDC is checked and good. The carb has no full vacuum, only ported and that on both sides. As I want to have full manifold vacuum I am sure I will have to get a new carb. Rick´s post...

    Goober, thanks. Interesting, the manual states the driver side port is manifold vac. At least mine is not, but ported or sort of ported. Is there any chance a manifold vac port can get stuck or clogged that is lets vacuum pass on certain circumstances?

    I read on a Corvette forum that the 1400, not 1400 series, has no full vac on the front side of the carb. It is all ported. All the 14 series has full on the driver side and ported on the passenger side. All but the 1400. Can anyone confirm that?
