    6/8 lowering kit

If your lower control arms are already giving you a 3" drop with a stock spring you shouldn't need a drop spring. The 3" from the lower control arm added to 3" from a drop spindle adds up to 6". Just run the stock spring without a spacer. Aftermarket springs tend to be really weak and will sag...

    6/8 lowering kit

McBay Performance offers a 1" aluminum spacer that is advertised to give 2.5 to 3" of lift. I used their 5/8" spacer to put my front end where I wanted it and am happy with their product YRMV.

I think he's saying that a stock C20 is higher than a stock C10. I don't know about that but good luck finding 22" tires with a "decent side wall tire thickness".

    18 or 20's

Looks good. I just looked under my truck, it had been a while and I remembered wrong. 5.5BS will fit fine.

Cool thank you. What front tire are you planning?

    18 or 20's

15x10 shows 5.5 back space. Do you have mods to clear the inner fender? Running spacers? I like the wheels but my truck maxes out at 5"BS.

    GMSquarebody shirts idea...

See that logo on the front? Put it on the back too, only bigger. Black shirt, 100% cotton.

60 days in on my 90 day rebuild. Goin to try a motor upgrade next. Any advice on going from a 350 to a 454?

Very nice. What did you do with the bumper guards? Someone on here will probably be looking for a pair before long.

Suggestion on fixing my powder coated rims

You need to find a powder coating outfit that knows what they're doing. That's just crappy prep. I considered powder coat on my wheels but painted them myself and got great results. Wish I could suggest a fix now that yours are done.

    77 lowering advise

A drop spindle doesn't affect suspension geometry. It simply raises the wheel in relation to everything else. Shorter springs will change camber.

    77 lowering advise

It's the 3" drop on the spindle that's causing a lot of your issue, won't work without a larger diameter wheel. I lowered my 77 with 2.5" spindles and aftermarket 2" drop springs. Like Huck said they were too soft, and the top of the tire was contacting my inner fender wells. Added an aluminum...

Can anyone tell me what this is??

I've not only survived in California, I've lived well, prospered, and have a great quality of life. Have you ever lived in California? You probably couldn't make it out here if you tried.

    CA Smog exemption

Yes, I had read that previously. And yes, SB712 leaves the pre-76 exemption in place. The bill is about collector cars, not old cars. They're not trying to make all old cars smog exempt. They are trying to make collector cars smog exempt. Two different animals. I wasn't disagreeing with you.

    CA Smog exemption

So all in all, I'd say the real question if this bill passes (and I'm not getting my hopes up) becomes what vehicles the collector car insurance companies will accept. I've no doubt my 1978 Fiat X1/9 would qualify as a collector car, but the mere fact that a car or truck is over 35 years old...

    CA Smog exemption

The bill in question is SB712 not SB12. Google SB712, it reads that collector cars 35 years or older are currently only partially exempt from smog checks. The bill removes the requirement that collector vehicles comply with exhaust emission standards for their specific model year and pass fuel...

Point taken. I was referring to your saying that you didn't have a garage. Sounded like you were blaming someone else for that situation, my mistake.
