HELP WITH WHEEL AND TIRE SET UP

Factory rear bracket and shackle should give you 6-7" drop with the flip kit. I used a 2.5" drop spindle along with a 2" drop spring in front. Turned out the aftermarket springs were weak and sacked the front end too far down. I added a 5/16" spring spacer to put the front end right and now the...

What have you done to your square lately??

I like your orange belts. 40 years ago my neighbor's dad had an orange Square. Pretty sure it was factory paint, but I don't remember the interior color. Just curious, did GM do a factory interior with orange belts?

    Interior lights issue.

On my truck I installed a new dome light bulb thinking it was bad because it wouldn't come on with either door open. Took out the door switches and gave them a good cleaning with emery cloth concentrating on the contact points of the switch shaft, viola! Both worked like new.

    Deleting the Catalytic Converter

Mine is a 77 long bed. Though I still have to do smog checks it came stock without a cat due to the 6050 GVWR. I went with dual 2 1/2" exhaust with 40 series Flowmasters, H pipe, and side exits. Doesn't stink or offend anyone and sounds amazing.

    Temp gauge issues

Sounds like the resistor on the back of your gauge is faulty. On my 77 c10 the gauge would read low till I replaced it with a new one from LMC. Around $40 if I recall correctly.

The 4th pic from the top of your OP. At the 7 0'clock position are the letters MIN, following that should be a number. I can't read it from here but what is that number?

    I’m so smart

My 77 doesn't have the inspection holes. You need to remove the drum and adjust the brakes from the outer side. It's just a little at a time until the adjustment is correct then re-install the drum.

some 4/6 drop wheel help (yea i know)

Something else to think about. The 2" drop springs have settled a bit and the top of my tire is rubbing the inner fender well over bumps. It's a 28" diameter tire. I bought some 5/8" spring spacers in case the rubbing gets worse but as of now it's not enough to make me want to change the rake...

some 4/6 drop wheel help (yea i know)

These rears are 15x10 with a 4-1/2" backspace. I used the same McGaughys parts you are planning to use. There was no way I had frame clearance without the C notch.

some 4/6 drop wheel help (yea i know)

On my truck with 2-1/2" drop spindles the 15" factory wheel just clears the steering knuckle. Backspace is 3-1/2". 3-3/4" backspace would probably fit with a little trimming on the knuckle. 4" won't fit with a 15" wheel.

77 C10 Silverado Longbed spring rates

Drop spindles have no effect on spring rates. They simply raise the spindle, which in turn lowers the vehicle. A drop of 1 to 1 1/2" isn't enough to warrant a shock change based solely on length. I don't know the stock spring rates but if you really want tunability a coil over conversion would...

    Biggest meat for the street

The red truck is on 275/60s. The gold one has 255/70s. Both nice looks. The 275/60 is 28" tall and 11" wide. 255/70 is 29.1" tall and 10.2" wide. Thats in a T/A, brands vary a bit but you get the idea.
