    Nope. Seam Murphy at Sean Murphy Induction (SMI) turned me on to that cam. He had it written down as the cam to go to in that engine for a truck. And he would know. He said it's the closest you can get to a ZZ4 without doing a ZZ4.

    Two things right off for off-idle problems: Have you adjusted your accelerator pump shot? Do you have the vacuum advance plugged into manifold vacuum?

    Excellent. So leaning it out just a bit (98 to 95 primaries; 95 to 92 secondaries), cleaning it out, and a new accelerator pump and floats did the trick. Oh, and toss in the phenolic spacer to keep the carb from overheating and simplify starting when hot. You might get even better mileage...
