1984 GMC Sierra Classic C2500 - Missing Spare Tire Holder Parts

I found mine on line through ebay. Look up the seller rayandsamantha, the link is below. They are from Nor Cal and part out a lot of GM trucks. I had to ask them for this part specifically. they removed it from a truck and made an auction for me. On you truck the rear frame crossmember is...

1973 Chevy Camper Special from CA - VIN?

My friend sold the truck back in 1993 when he purchased a new truck. His was a 4 speed, so I'm guessing it was a NP-205 transfer case. I don't recall him having any issues with it as it was his daily driver for years. My K30 has a factory 454 with a TH-400 transmissions and 205 transfer case...

Best all-around solvent for engine work?

One of the best degreasers I've used on the exterior of the engine and on the chassis is LA's totally Awesome cleaner undiluted. Plus it's only a buck at Dollar Tree. I put that in a pressurized tank sprayer let it sit a few, pressure wash or rinse and repeat as needed.

1973 Chevy Camper Special from CA - VIN?

With regards to your BAR tag, I guess I'm the only ex-Cali guy old enough to know the info. When California started smog testing in 1984, the rule was 20 years old and newer had to get smogged every 2 years. I had a '64 Chevelle back then that they made me smog, even though it was built in the...

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

@DoubleDingo @Grit dog I was one of those fortunate California guys that didn't have to worry about rust. You can see how terrible it was.:rotflmao: My bolts were still in great shape. Just sprayed some WD-40 "just in case." I built a wooden dolly that was frame height to slide the bed onto...

Sliding Bed back away from Cab

I'm 56 with a bad back and did this a couple of months ago to replace fuels lines on the tanks. Just had to remove my rear bumper and slide it back.

    Grille Color

I always like the color of the 83-84 grills. I first found a vinyl for the center bar then found a paint to match. It's not totally correct for an '84, but close. I used Duplicolor Perfect Match Chrysler Charcoal Gray Metallic (AA9, PA9) #BC0331 and did not clear coat it. It has a semi matte...

    replacing power steering pump

I got a rebuilt pump from Oreilly's 4 1/2 years ago and still going strong (remote reservoir style). I can't say so much for the rebuilt BBB steering box from Napa. In under 4 years I started leaking. I ended up getting a new Lares unit.

Turn signal lights on camper mirrors

Here's something I found on-line. Made by United Pacific. Stainless bracket - 60054. I would guess it mounts where the mirror head bolts to the support arms. There's also those clamp on antennae brackets you could probably use too.

Looking for pic's of White truck with charcoal interior.

I'll need to get them out of the box and take a better picture. I'm waiting to install them after paint (some year at this rate). I know the photo is a little bright. I don't like the look of how the panels come with the full velour. I forgot to mention, the sun visors are USA-1 products...

Looking for pic's of White truck with charcoal interior.

Those panels look like most of the ones you see for 81-87. They don't have a location for the velour inserts. I got these for mine, made by Coverlay. I purchased them through Rockauto. I will remove the velour that is on the new panels so I can add the correct trim and insert (picture #2).

    77 fresh air duct

It could be a California thing. I've had 5 carbureted Square bodies over the years with small and big blocks from 77-85. They all had the wider mouth air cleaner snorkels. This was my '79 GMC K15 (photo #1). The only thing I did to this was add the taller lid. I had three 87-88's TBIs, both...

    Which crate motor to use

It was the basic 454 truck engine: low compression, peanut port heads, etc. At the time, I lived in California and had to do smog every 2 years. Engine was $3500 in 2018 from GM 3yr/100k warranty. It was about $1800 labor for the shop to install it. I'd had back surgery so I could do it...

    Which GM crate motor?

This was the part number I used in 2017/18 when I got mine. GM 12339193 It looks like GM has discontinued it though. I got lucky when I did mine as the block that was in it was only a 2 bolt and the replacement was a 4 bolt. The replacement block was a 1990 and still had the fuel pump mount.

89 V3500 headlight bezels and grill

This is the base grill for 85-88 trucks. The difference is you would need all the trim work that goes around the perimeter of the grill. The 89-91 does not have that. It also appears you parking lights may be a little wider.

    Which crate motor to use

Local Chevy dealer. They were nice enough to drop it off at the shop I had do the install and pick up the core when done.

    77 fresh air duct

It may just be an 81-86 issue with the different snorkel tubes. This is the correct one for my 454. There is more of a bend near the air cleaner snorkel opening (also longer smooth area). I had an 1980 C20 3+3 years ago with a 454, but I don't have any photos of the engine, so I can't recall...
