    Bvllsh!t on craigslist.

One of the best deals I've seen lately. Clean California truck, 3/4T 4x4 with the 4L80. Asking price of $7500. You could send this back east and double your money. https://bakersfield.craigslist.org/cto/d/bakersfield-1991-gmc-2500-subu/7426858640.html

Best jack with 30” minimum lift

Farm jack? I thought they were just called “Bumper Benders”. Hate those things.

Will 35s fit on a 4in lift without rubbing?

I'm running the 4" EZ's and same size tires as GD on 16x8 rims, only difference is I have the DeeZee running boards. They rubbed quite a bit on the front mud flaps until I trimmed the running boards enough to pull the flaps back in line with the wheel well. In normal driving they never touch...

    Thoughts on price?

Like he said about location. In California you can reduce those values by 50%.

Yeah, That burb should have a bumper sticker that says "My other car is a rapevan."

What Seat Is This? (Front fold down between buckets)

Dude! You left out the best part of the story!! The guy wants $16K for his truck, he's "pretty firm on the price," because the body is "near perfect" and apparently, he knows what he's got. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/cto/d/los-angeles-1985-gmc-suburban-liter/7413137698.html

    BC’s boat/dumpster fire thread

I have those zigzag cleats on my pontoon boat. One of the best mods I've done to it and makes tying up to docks easy-peasy.

Suburban Rear Heat & AC removal/installation/compatability

My '89 has rear ac only. It seems like the heater units aren't that common, I've only seen pictures of them. Yes, the ac is tied in to the front system. Removing one would be pretty straightforward, the only part that might be tricky is where the rear lines enter the cabin at the back corner. It...

    Finally ordering the lift

You'll find out pretty quick. Seems like some don't have any problems but my stopping distances were, depending on speed, about equal to either a freight train or a cruise ship. Fixed it with a hydroboost conversion.

    Finally ordering the lift

You might want to order a back brace and kidney belt while you’re at it.

    Finally ordering the lift

I ordered RC because it was inexpensive. By the time I replaced the front springs with TC, ditched the shocks that RC supplied, and figured out the brake line extension brackets didn’t work, I ended up paying way too much for some 4” blocks and a raised steering arm.

What new tools have you got lately?

I've had these for a while now but forgot about them until AG mentioned sharpening chains. I was taking my chains to a local guy that would sharpen them for $8-10, which is cheaper than buying new, but still gets expensive when you're cutting old hardwoods and dulling them quickly. I don't cut...

    Clearbra on a squarebody?

I have three cars with Xpel, but never bothered with the square because it came with some old-school old-man accessories that prevent chips, Dee Zee running boards and a wind deflector on the hood. My oldest car with ppf is an ‘04 Accord. 3M material was installed when new, and then replaced...

    1989 Suburban Fan Shroud

I measured mine as best I could with the shroud in place and 19" for the radiator seems accurate. I also measured the top half of the shroud and it's 10.75" from the bottom lip to the top mounting hole.

What new tools have you got lately?

A couple of recent additions. A blower? Yup, I've discovered how handy these are for drying off cars after washing. I was using my Echo gas blower but the neighbors didn't appreciate the noise first thing in the morning (I like to wash my cars before the sun comes up). This Toro F700 puts...

    Identifying parts

I don’t think there’s a single correct answer that covers all years. Mine goes to a T-fitting on the firewall and from there goes to several other points, including the cruise control diaphragm, through the firewall, another T-point, etc. etc.

Rear Sway Bar for my C10 longbed

Yeah, I see how they are accomplishing the same thing, but in a different manner. Only thought I had on that mounting system is that a larger diameter bar would be called for to make up for the absence of mid-span support. Looking forward to pics and your impression on how it works.

Rear Sway Bar for my C10 longbed

I've installed a few aftermarket bars and all of them attached to the axle tubes. Yours looks like it was styled more like the factory bars that were available on the C/K 30 series. Maybe somebody can post a pic if they have a 1 ton with a sway bar for reference. Knowing the bars limit body...

    BC’s boat/dumpster fire thread

I used to work in a shop that made custom motorcycle bodies and fairings out of fiberglass. Trust me, you don't want anything to do with it. It smells, the fumes are toxic, it makes you scratch like a dog with fleas, it ruins clothes, and if you mix the catalyst wrong the boat will spontaneously...

Rear Sway Bar for my C10 longbed

Step 4 in the instructions answers your question. They supplied two different length bolts for the end links depending on the ride height of your truck. The goal is to have the bar sit as parallel to the ground (front to back) as possible. When I added a 4" lift to mine, the bar was angled up...
