    What hurts my brain is thinking about that statement coupled with the fact that my '59 MGA has a 12v positive ground system. Hooking up a battery with the positive lead going straight to the frame always makes me turn my head a little and expecting lots of sparks and noise.

    You'll need to check the motor mounts beyond obvious signs of breakage. I had a situation where the rubber inside the clamshells degraded and allowed the motor to torque-over far enough for the driveline to make contact with the crossmember.

    I’m in no rush when working under the hood so it’s hand tools only. I do use air when I rotate tires and wouldn’t switch to batteries just because I like the sound the gun makes when the lug nuts break loose. Makes me feel like I’m on a nascar pit crew.

    Great looking truck! Something to check on the cruise control issue is the cc servo. It’s the round diaphragm connected to the throttle linkage. Mine had a small crack in the dried-out rubber and that was keeping it from working.
