Can someone point me to threads on 350 vs 400 cid
Use those photos of what not to do lol. The brakes are okay for what it is but without trailer brakes I wouldn't have even started. Those were all close to home hauls. Using the factory cooler in the radiator but it has a TH350 instead of that junky 700r4 of the same years. I have more trouble...- TravisB

I have a 400 in an 84 k10. Didn't know I did until one of the heads cracked and 350 heads aren't the same (you can make them work with some machine work which is what we did). It pulls great but the truck has 2.9x gears so it really needs it. haha The only issues I have had with it were...- TravisB

Frame cracked.
From the looks of this, my guess is your truck is lowered and the stock shock has been bottoming out and transferring all that force to this bolt. Either that or your shock was too long and the same thing is happening when you hit a big bump. You can probably repair that by getting it flat...- TravisB

Most complete drop kit and the lowest I can go with no mods

How similar are the square frames to later model trucks?

Anyone rocking S10's?
I had nearly the same thing as my first vehicle but mine was an 86 with a 4 speed and nova wheels. You couldn't break the speed limit but we did go through 3 of those engines. High RPMs will kill the little things. haha- TravisB

How similar are the square frames to later model trucks?
If you are looking for specifics to compare, I have a regular cab, short box, 2wd, but wouldn't be opposed to rolling a 4wd frame under it. Nothing wrong with my current frame really, just daydreaming.- TravisB

I was driving to work this morning thinking about an LS swap for my square and had an idea. Would it be simpler to buy a rollover late model truck and sit my body on that truck instead of trying to swap all that to my frame? Floorboard Thickness
Okay, I finally got a chance to work on my floor again and I've found there are several pinholes in the rust. Would it be better to buy new pans and from them on or try to patch the spots?
