Can anyone tell me about this step bumper? (Aftermarket?)

Hey all, Can anyone give me any info on this step bumper? I'm assuming it's an aftermarket one. If it is aftermarket, I'm puzzled as to why such a product existed if most Squares came standard with decent step bumpers to begin with? This one might be a hair more stylish, but it definitely...

Steering Wheel Too Close '84 C-10

This certainly seems intriguing to me. All my local junkyards are crawling with late 80s/early 90s S10s, so I could get a column pretty easily. But what about the actual functions of the S10 column? The turn signal, hazard button, brights, etc. Surely that isn't plug and play with the C10...

EGR tests good, but code 32!

I feel the problem lies somewhere between the ECM and the solenoid. - I know tubes from the TB baseplate to the EGR are good. - The new EGR works properly. - The EGR intake passages are clear. - The new solenoid functions properly. At that point, I'm guessing it's wiring, or relay, or ECM issues...

2025 Old Dominion Truck Rally Central VA

There wasn't one last year, Paul. And I don't see any show promotional materials for this year's event that mentions it. So I'd assume there won't be one. But I would bring a bit of cash in case some entrepreneurial fellas are selling parts out of the back of their trucks.

2025 Old Dominion Truck Rally Central VA

Hey Sam, Yes, Zack Orr is not me, I'm Zach W. We're C10 buds, but that's about it. He lives somewhere Thornburg, I think. I'm pretty sure (like 90%) shirts will be for sale at the event. But if you're on FB, feel free to message Zack or Brandy through the Rally page and I'm sure one of...

2025 Old Dominion Truck Rally Central VA

Right. As I said, you can look the show info up on Facebook or Instagram. If you're not on either of those platforms, and you have questions that the poster I shared doesn't answer, please post them here and either I'll answer, or find you the answer. But here's the basics: - November 15...

C10 Fall Revival 2025, Denton, NC

Glad to hear it, Sam. I've made it a practice to never pre-register for any show years ago since tomorrow's not guaranteed. I just show up. There's PLENTY of room at this new space, so you don't have to pre-register if you don't want to. But it does get you in the mix for lots of door prizes.

EGR tests good, but code 32!

I tried idling it and manually pushing the diaphragm. It nearly killed the engine both times I tried this, so I think the intake passages are clear. I tried getting the solenoid to provide suction on the outlet side by first revving the engine to about 2k and then jumping the A-B ports - neither...

EGR tests good, but code 32!

Thanks for the info guys. 1. I have the correct EGR valve. It's exactly the same as my old one (which I believe to be the original) and functions the same as well. 2. I've tested the new EGR valve and it'll hold vacuum all day long. 3. I've got good vacuum through the plastic line from the TBI...

EGR tests good, but code 32!

I know it doesn't mean much these days, but the EGR valve is new, only about 20 miles old. It holds good vacuum when tested. IDK if it's stuck open though. How would I check that? I did just did a rudimentary suction test on the EGR control solenoid (switch) and can't feel/see any suction on...

EGR tests good, but code 32!

Hey guys, My R10's OG TBI 305 has been running rougher and rougher over the last couple months. I checked a few things (plugs, wires, coil, etc.) and found my EGR wouldn't hold vacuum. So I replaced it with a new one (tested before installing and works great). It seems to be less rough now. But...

    Baffling Blower Motor Issue

You're my hero, Spencer! My purple wire end is in great shape. But I guess the retaining groove on the new blower motor tab is not quite in the OE location. The wire felt like it was plugged in fine as-is. But after some good hard pushing, it finally locked in and everything seems to work great...

    Baffling Blower Motor Issue

Hey all, My R10 just failed the annual safety inspection b/c the blower motor wasn't working (need functional defrost to pass inspection). I installed a new blower motor not quite a year ago. And everything worked fine the last time I used the A/C, which was about 3-4 weeks ago. 1. I hooked 12v...

A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??

Thanks all! Sorry for posting and ghosting. Got busy and then forgot about this post b/c the A/C suddenly works fine again. Guess it needs a drive or two at the beginning of A/C season to get things loosened up? To answer the various questions: 1. This is pretty much 100% factory...

A/C stops blowing when I come to a stop??

Hi all, I had this problem last summer, and after some solid input, a new blower motor seemed to have fixed it back then. https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/a-c-only-works-when-driving.43446/ But I'm running into the exact same problem all over again this summer: the cold air (any air)...

    1987 R10: TH400 to 200-4R swap (mostly wiring??)

I'm familiar with wiring up the manual lock-up switch, Matt. I just want to know if unplugging the factory solenoid detent wire (and leaving it unplugged) is going to cause issues with the truck's computer?

    1987 R10: TH400 to 200-4R swap (mostly wiring??)

Thanks Nick. So if I leave the wire to the detent solenoid unplugged (I'll just cap it and tie it off out of the way), that won't effect anything on the PCM side, will it? It won't throw a code or act up if it can't see what gear the 200 is in?

    1987 R10: TH400 to 200-4R swap (mostly wiring??)

While the OG 305 TBI/TH400/3.08 10 bolt in my 87 R10 does okay buzzing down the highway between 71-74mph at 2800rpm, I'm just not enjoying that kind of a buzz for hours on end when I drive long distances. So I'd like to put in an OD trans. I have a decent, used 200-4R I'd like to put behind the...

Fuel spitting out spark plug hole?!?

There's some serious merit to the cracked head (or blown head gasket) idea. The plugs look a bit yellow/orangey. And I do lose a little bit of coolant over the course of a couple months. It's just that the liquid being spat out during this exercise was gas and not coolant. This 305 would...

Fuel spitting out spark plug hole?!?

I pulled the valve cover and everything looked hunky-dory underneath. I checked the rockers and they all seemed fine. Nothing looked to be out of adjustment. I watched as my wife turned it over and everything seemed to be functioning just fine. For this test, I unplugged the injector pods...
