    Buy an extra tube of adhesive for both. It takes about a tube and a half to properly attach the cover. Permatex 80050 clear or 75151. I don't know why they are stingy with the stuff but you will need it.

    Lube the latch below the hood and confirm it isn't sticking. If your existing cable has stretched, you can take some washers, clamp them in a vice and cut a slice thru one end. Then use them to take up the gap on the cable end and squeeze them closed with some channel locks.
