    Had the battery in my 2009 2500 Silverado die in 2016. Bought a new battery at Walmart for $74. That battery lasted until 2 months ago. The cheapest replacement I could find was at Advance Auto for $205. Yes, I agree, batteries have changed over the past few years.

    Both have their place, and for most it will be about preference. I'm not getting rid of my compressor, I'm just adding more eggs to the basket.

    A battery powered impact beats leaning on a 4 way, for me, anyday. I did 15 years as an ASE certified tech, and I got tired pretty early on listening to noisy 3 stage compressors kicking on and running at about 100 db. Having one in my truck's toolbox has been a back saver more than a few times.

    Yep, I agree. Whether because of stereotype and/or much better alternatives, they haven't held much value. 15 years of working on GMs during the era I can count on one hand the # of 307s someone spent good money on, trying to turn it into something it wasn't meant to be.
