    Yes, output shafts can be swapped out. Or if you are patient, have basic tools you can rebuild one yourself. Or have it rebuilt. I would still be on the lookout anyway for a spare transmission even after you get yours on the road.

    Why not just add an extra auxiliary tank to your compressor? Not knocking your idea. I added a 30 gallon air tank to my existing 30 gallon compressor and it does everything I need it to.

    X2 on the die and cleaning. Start from the beginning. Pick up the die and degreaser and head to the car wash. The motor will be good and hot. Degrease the engine and wash it off. By the time you get home the motor will be dry. Add the die. If it is a slow leak, let the motor idle over a section...

    Hindsight is a b with expectations vs results. Knowing the shop was new, it may have been a good idea to take some pics of what you expected the finished product to look like. I know you said you wanted it to look clean, but it sounds (and looks) like a misunderstanding.

    It is really all about preference. I'd stick with the slider. I like having my arm along the seat and just reach up and popping it open for a little crossflow ventilation.

    Yep, the tag on a previous 203 I had was blue and facing the front of the truck. Nothing on this one. I'm heading back out shortly to have another look and snap a few more pics.

    Yes, the VIN off the dashboard matches the VIN stated on the title and according to the DMV.

    Correct, the VIN is C indicating 2wd. I have a 79 Bonanza and an 85 Silverado in front of this one so I'm not sure when the official restoration will begin, but it is always nice to know a little history from these old gals. I'll post up the transfer case tag likely tomorrow if I can get time.

    It is a 203 and full time 4wd. I agree, it is possible it was swapped out, but from making contact with the last two owners, and the exterior appearance, it would have been a very long time ago. The RPO list is also gone.

    No, I did some checking. The truck is for certain a 1980 model, however the TC, and it is original, is a 203. They must have been emptying the old stock as this one was rolling down the line. The issue was definitely linkage related.
