2 piece front drive shaft loose

If I were you, I'd remove the front shaft until it's repaired. I drove a '75 K/20 from OR to AZ and the front shaft came apart on the trip taking out the tranny pan in the middle of nowhere, a failed U joint. I had inspected and greased the whole drivetrain before I left but it was all OE...

    Show your daily driver

This is my daily driver, 2023 HD FXLRS. I've ridden it 18,000 miles in the last 15 months since I bought it new. My 2017 Frontier sits for a week or more at a time, it feels strange to drive a 4 wheeled vehicle. I use it for hauling groceries or what I can't carry on the bike. My baby, Whitey.

Original or crate engine? 1976 k5 blazer Cheyenne

My two cents is to leave it original but that's how I am. I'd rather build a custom vehicle and have the original. There's something I find in all original vehicles, kind of like historical technology. When I was young, in my teens and twenties, I didn't keep anything stock, once I got into my...

    Bad alternator bearings

Alternators are pretty easy to rebuild yourself. Get a manual for test specs, order your parts and reassemble, that way you know it's good.

What would you pay for this truck?

In my opinion, it depends on how much you want it. From the photos, I probably would grudgingly give $700 but maybe the next guy would give him $2000. It definitely needs work and NOTHING is cheep anymore. Just tires would run you $800 mounted and balanced. Offer him what you want to pay and...

How much are these parts worth?

Just when you scrap it someone will want it. Put up ads in a lot of different places and let it ride for 6-12 months, someone out there wants it and is looking for it. You just have to get the word out. It's never failed when I try to sell vehicles no one's interested. When I finally get rid of...

Opinion thread- 81 silverado grill you like or ?

I owned and drove an '81 C10 Custom Deluxe for 11 years and I grew to really like the grille. They're unique and seemed sturdier than say the 73 through 79 grilles at least in my opinion. You have a nice looking pickup. Mine was dark metallic brown like yours, SWB, 250, 3 speed on the column...

    2009 Honda 250 Rebel

Just aquired this bike today in a trade. It's a 2009 Honda, 250 Rebel with 4,900 miles on it. I took it for a short ride but didn't want to abuse it with my 6'4" 240 lb body. Fun little toy! Good little beer getter but not on the interstate. Whitey, my daily driver, 2023 HD FXLRS 117 a much...

A grand hello From eastern Oregon

Welcome Jim from NW Arizona. Sounds like a very nice pickup you have. I'm assuming the 6.6L is a small block 400. I owned a '79 Silverado in the same configuration as your '80 model. You'd better post several pictures before the griping starts.
