Auto or manual locking hub ?

More wear on the auto 4x4 parts. I had a front U joint fail on my auto 4x4, good thing I was only doing 20 mph, it took out the tranny pan and ruined the front drive shaft. I converted the transfer case and installed Mile Marker hubs, I'm happy. I would have kept the auto 4x4 but am in remote...

LMC truck has the wrong window regulator rollers....

I can't find the correct ones for my rear quarter window on my 1972 Olds Toronado. I don't understand why there's probably 30 different rollers used in the automotive industry, what's wrong with 3 or 4 at the most? Thankfully, the ones on my '75 Chev still work good but after reading this, I'm...

So Does Everyone HATE This Steering Wheel?

I vote for the stock steering wheel. If it gets sticky, I wear gloves. It only gets sticky when it's been sitting in 100+ degree heat and sun for a couple weeks, not sticky in the winter. Maybe that's why they make steering wheel covers.

Best oil? Type, brand, viscosity, additives, etc.

I always use what the manufacturer recomends. I don't use additives and I don't go over 3,000 miles on an oil/filter change. The most important thing is regular maintenance. Check your fluids regularly and change them regularly whether it's brake fluid, p/s fluid, tranny fluid or engine oil...

    Inadequate Heat

I was going to suggest the thermostat. Check your engine temp gauge or if you have an idiot light, use a thermometer to check the engine temp. If your thermostat is stuck open, you wont get much heat. Also, make sure there's no air in the system. It's usually one if not both of those problems.

    Radiator replacement / repair ideas

I couldn't afford to live in the NW anymore let alone drink there! I guess if you find a good quality aluminum radiator, at least it should last for a couple or three decades. Keep hunting around for a mom and pop radiator shop and have the old one repaired if you're not in a hurry.

    Radiator replacement / repair ideas

My radiators in my 1972 Olds Ninety Eight and 1972 Olds Toronado hadn't been cleaned since new and the Toronado one leaked. In Kingman, there is only one radiator shop left and I had the guy clean, test and repair the radiators for $50 each. $500 sounds expensive to me but what do I know,. I...

    Help with identification

Don't know. I had the carpet out of my 1975 Scottsdale last summer and there was nothing there like yours. What year is it?

I’m new! Have a family 1982 c-10. Trying to restore . Here looking for any guidance from the inter webs.

I vote for keeping the 6 cylinder as well. Don't get rid of it after you put a V8 in it at least. I kept my '81 Custom Deluxe stock with a 250, 3 speed transmission stock the 11 years I drove it and wasn't sorry at all.

Current Market On A 1982 C10 Regular Cab Short Box W Dual Tanks

Good luck, I wish you well. Looks like a nice pickup. I bought an '81 C/10, Custom deluxe, SWB, manual steering, manual brakes, 250 engine, 3 speed on the column, brown on brown, about 80,000 miles, needed a windshield, for $1400 in AK in 1992. I kept it for 11 years. One of the most reliable...

    84 K2500 292

Nice looking Jimmy from the photo. I had a 292 in a 1968 C10 and a 250 in a 1981 C10. I didn't know they were still around in '84. Good luck with the truck!

Replacing Rear Door Window Regulator and Rollers

I like your idea. I am having the same problem on my 72 Olds Toronado except I can't even find the correct nylon rollers and guides. From what I've seen, a hydraulic press is the best way. Good luck!

New seat bottom foam vs re-building existing?

Yep. A guy up the road came by wanting to buy my truck. He said he does upholstery so I asked for a quote. $500 cash, I said do it! While the seat was out, I cleaned the floor pan, primered and painted it, new carpet and reupholstered seat, about $800 total. The upholsterer, Francisco, told me...

New seat bottom foam vs re-building existing?

My 2 cents. I recently had my seat reupholstered and debated the same thing, seat back as well. The guy that did mine said he'd just add some new foam where it was worn. The repair was as good as new to me. You can't tell it was repaired. He charged me $550 for the works, inspection of springs...
