NP203 stuck in Neutral, lever will not budge HELP

Went to remove linkage and it immediately unbound itself, and now it shifts through every range incredibly easily after adjusting it. It has clearly not been adjusted in at least 30-40 plus years. Thanks all for your help!

NP203 stuck in Neutral, lever will not budge HELP

I tried shifting it with the trans in neutral with a little tap of the throttle and it just just wouldn’t budge, I’ll try the linkage tomorrow, got stuck at work today.

NP203 stuck in Neutral, lever will not budge HELP

Have a 1976 K20 with the full time 4wd (np203) and my genius of a friend shifted it from low to high while the gears were stilling spinning in the t case. Long story short it’s stuck somewhere between N-H loc and is basically in neutral with only the parking brake holding it stopped. The lever...

    Inconsistent tapping from 400 sbc

New cam and lifters were installed yeah it’s a edelbrock performer plus 2102 with the matching lifters, I know I have an exhaust leak somewhere but seeing as the engine shakes when the tapping happens I don’t think it’s that

    Inconsistent tapping from 400 sbc

Put new cam in my 76 K20 with a 400 and it was properly broken in, all steps followed and lash set. Now every once in a while it taps and kind of sounds like lifter noise. Super inconsistent and it doesn’t really change with rpm and smoothes out around 700-800 rpm. I let the truck sit for 4 days...

    backfire under wide open throttle

Alright I’ve got it running but it’s exactly the same as before. It still pops out of the carb as soon as the secondaries open or go to open, however it will rev healthy. I’ve got my timing at 8 BTDC but am going to set it at 12, no vac leaks and a vacuum gauge showed that it was a healthy motor.

    backfire under wide open throttle

After rebuilding the Quadrajet with a walker kit and putting the OEM style distributor in I cannot get the truck to start. I had a buddy pull the distributor and he didn’t mark it at all or set the motor at TDC when he pulled it. I have pulled the distributor several times and set it to 0...

    backfire under wide open throttle

Motor has 3k miles on a rebuild and good compression on all cylinders. I ordered a OEM style distributor as I think the “performance” one on it is causing timing issues. Timed with a timing gun set at 8 degrees. The fuel is fresh and filter is not clean but I suspect no issues. Thanks all as I...

    backfire under wide open throttle

I’m having some interesting issues with my 76 K20, it’s got a new distributor, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. It starts to backfire out the top of the carb as soon as it goes to engage the secondaries, a very rapid popping. It idles and runs great but as soon as the secondaries go to kick in it...

    Carb backfire under load

I’m having a similar issue with my 76 K20, it’s got a new distributor, plugs, wires, and fuel pump. It starts to backfire out the top of the carb as soon as it’s under load. It idles and runs great but as soon as the secondaries go to kick in it pops like you wouldn’t believe. It’s got the OG...
