    Hello from Corpus Christi,Tx

That 350 with Tuned Port Injection would be a good thing in that truck. I've seen a 400 that was TBI, on that forum, that the owner did that swap....it looks factory and runs great.

    Show your daily driver

Lil Truck O' Gold, 2000(OBS carryover model) Chevy C2500 Crew Cab shortbed. One of 3379 built that year in C2500 form, and one of 20 in this color (Gold Firemist). Bought him in Yoakum, Texas (Central Texas) in January, have been driving him and working on him as needed. Still a work in...

Let's see those 4x4 Squares On Dirt!

Not too much that'll make a Crew Cab longbed look smaller, but I parked next to a Sprinter van and it did.... But yeah 22+' of truck, usually you're the big dog except for semis and dump trucks and buses.

Hello everyone, I'm Walter; I'm new here.

Welcome from Houston, Texas! How difficult is it to drive something as big as a square body Burb, in the Netherlands? From the pictures/movies I've seen, your cities are kinda tightly packed....

Hydroboost front brakes locking up after heating up

Yes the hydro boost units are prone to this. If the pushrod effective length is incorrect, it'll make the brakes lock up after a few stops. BTDT, this is the thing I had the most problems with on my OBS one ton Crew Cab longbed.

IIRC Royal Sierra was like the Bonanza but for GMC.... special combo of options....

    1977 Heavy Half fender emblem

Our 78 GMC Sierra shop truck was a Heavy Half, with the 5/8 ton rating, truck 12 bolt and no cats so it would run on regular leaded gas. We bought that truck brand new, and I can vouch that it never had the bed decals. I'm not sure what the build date was but we bought it in May '78 after buying...

I Spy A Cool GM Truck

I like the 3+3 with the camper.... My Dad woulda loved a truck like that and it would have fit in the fleet well with that color combo. Having had an OBS Crew Cab longbed, I can say it's a good thing to have Burb space and comfort up front, and 8' and one ton of cargo capacity out back..... Just...

    Check out this 73!

I've been told it's real easy to get buzzed on white claws because "they don't taste like an alcoholic drink". I have not tried it.... Depending on what people bring to my boss's July 4th get together, I might have an adult beverage if we're there long enough for the buzz to wear off. I'll...

86 long bed 4x4 plastic model kit

131.5" WB is an 8' bed. The short box squares are 117.5" WB IIRC. That kit looks really nice, too bad it's in 1/35 scale which is popular for military models but not so great for the automotive modelers. Closest we have is 1/32....

Who knows auto insurance? Ins outs loopholes

No, Mom was the listed/insured driver at the time; she and I co-own that truck. Apparently she'd dropped the collision coverage earlier and didn't mention it to me.... We've had times of poverty so things get cut..... Yes it was, just over 150K on it, immaculate inside except for cracks in...

Who knows auto insurance? Ins outs loopholes

The police report "should be" the definitive statement, but sometimes it can be inaccurate. When my truck got hit last November, the West University Place PD said that my mother (she was driving it, had just dropped me off at work) was at fault, when she was hit by a car that moved over into her...

I think the later trucks had those....our Burbs were all buckets though.

I have an OBS Crew Cab longbed, and we used to drive it in Houston daily...I know how big/loooong one of those trucks is!

86 long bed 4x4 plastic model kit

Yes there hasn't been a long bed square body kit. But there are several different 3D prints available.

Looks like a square body front seat, probably from a Scottsdale or Sierra since it's all vinyl. Reminds me a lot of the ones in the 78 and 81 Sierra shop trucks. I want to say the early years had chrome buckles on the seat back upholstery, I remember the 75 Sierra Classic having them. Maybe that...

Too bad you're not closer to SE Texas, I have a front bench out of the 77 Burb with later style light tan velour upholstery. Just using it as a couch in the shop building....

    Ford 460 project

Yes I don't know much about Phords other than I don't want another one, but I would call that a mid sump pan as well. Rear sump would look like a Chevy pan.

    Wood bead seat cover

We had those in the 79 Burb since it had the vinyl high top buckets and no AC. They do help some as the air can circulate under you. One thing I learned about them pretty quickly...if you or someone who rides in your vehicle, on these, has long hair...you do not want your ponytail or hair...

I just won a 1985 1 ton C/K Four door from the auction. going to pick it up next week ill post pics. Are there any four door square body guys on here?

I agree! The 6 1/2' bed looks "just right"...the 8' bed is definitely a longboy, and any of the shorter "new truck" beds just don't look good.

Yes, try driving a CCLB in Houston! I like the CCSB for doing that (it's big enough lol!). Amazing how much more manageable and manueverable not having the 18" in the middle, makes it....

1991 suburban sunvisors in 1987 pickup? Will they fit?

Suburban through the '91's are square body trucks, so they should fit. That said, I don't recall our '90 R2500 GMC SLE Burb having any clips on the inside (close to the rearview mirror) .... That sounds like the way my later style interior OBS trucks are set up. Do you have any pictures of the...
