What brand of 1-2" drop shackle takes a 1 1/2" factory size bushing??

I bought a set of 1-2" drop shackles for my 78 C10. They look fine but I want to change out the red bushings that appear to be soft (I don't want red anyway), with my Energy Suspension black bushings that I already have. I pressed one out and the hole is 1 3/8, the original shackles and leafs...

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

I never thought about the cutout being higher, that's prob some of it.

Thanks much! That's exactly what I needed to know.

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

What size wheels? I'm running 15's.

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

It wasn't that high just a little higher than the rear. It's a factory 305 truck, my dad bought it new and nothings been changed until now. The rear leafs 4 (3-1) had wear that I've never seen before, maybe that played a part. I am concerned about the 2" front drop springs coming out of...

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

Yes, it looked ridiculous. Never hauled anything its whole life. I'm not sure if I'll like the drop coils or not. The frame is still on stands, blasted and painted with only the front suspension done. If it sits level or just a tad high in the rear I'll be fine. I just hate the thought of...

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

I just posted more info before I saw this. Yes, I only want about an inch or so in the rear. This truck sat higher in the front anyhow and I hated that. I didn't do anything to the mounts.

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention that I just got new Leafs from ST. Louis Spring, the are like the originals: 4 (3-1) the lightest version I believe. For the front I have a set of 2" drop springs, that's about as low as I want to go.

Another drop shackle question, just a little different.

Ok, I did research on this subject and see that with a 2" drop shackle with 52"leafs springs you have to notch the bed support. I just got a set of 1-2" drop shackles, what if I cut them off at the black marker line (see pic) and just used the 1" drop hole, will that clear without cutting the...

Door realignment after paint, what technique did you use?

So you reamed to 1/8 through the hinge and cab so the pin fits tight correct? I like that idea, did you get the doors back on yet?

Door realignment after paint, what technique did you use?

I feel the same way, that's why this is driving me nuts. I just don't think I can get into the jambs with a gun to cover completely. Did you paint with doors on? How did it turn out?

Door realignment after paint, what technique did you use?

Sorry for late reply. When I built my hinges I tack welded the end of my pins to the hings so they wouldn't spin later and enlarge the hole, they were a little loose also. I would build a new set of hinges that have removable pins but I haven't came up with a good enough idea.

Door realignment after paint, what technique did you use?

I'm doing final block sanding on my 78 cab. I rebuilt the door hinges with oversize bushings and I have the door gaps exactly where I want them to stay. I used filler rod/bodywork to get the gaps better than the factory ever did on these. I really don't want to remove the doors but I need to...

    I didn't know that, thanks.

    Evap Box Insulation??

I'm curious to see if anyone has insulated the evap box under the hood. I have left over Raptor liner bed liner spray that I'm thinking about using. It's the two part that sprays with a gun. I did my new gas tank with it and it looks really good and it dries hard. I'm thinking it would not...

Here's a pic of the location dimple for the hood release cable for reference. I don't know where to put it other than here.

That's cool, I've noticed that. Like the dimples in the door and cab where the holes for the grommet for power windows would go. I'm adding that also and the dimples came in very handy.

I looked at my cab after seeing this pic, since my cab is blasted/primed, and sitting on stands my firewall is fully exposed and easy to get to. In the exact area where your release cable is going through there is a dimple on mine. I thought it was a spot weld but there's nothing behind it...

Well, I thought I had all the info. The inside mounting is clear now but does the cable go through a dedicated hole in the firewall or does it share an existing hole? I'm not home at the moment and I don't recall the holes.

Yes, thank you! I would like to see. There's different style plastic kick panels, it's nice to see the differences.
