Thanks, I did buy a set-up bearing from the vendor. Now I have two,ha.

Rear disc conversion brake line pics and suggestions, need pics.

Hello, I just got my rear disc brackets and rotors on and I'm looking into brake lines. I a new factory center hose with the T bolted to the diff cover. I'm thinking about getting braided stainless lines made to run the whole lengths. I don't want the hoses/lines rubbing on anything. I see...

Did I ruin this pinion bearing?

Got my second new bearing, froze the pinion, then pressed it on, no prob. (would have pressed on fine without freezing I'm sure). This is how I should have done it the first time. Don't heat the bearing! And don't forget the shim.

Thanks, Highway tire or off road? I do see Uniroyal 285's in 16" , just one size in 15 and it's a 235

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

Here's an update that some of you may already know: I just found that Coker Tire is the absolute only place that has these two sizes, they are BF Goodrich: 285-70-15, and 275-65-16. They are hard to find on their website but they're there.

They look good on there, what brand are they? I just found that Coker Tire is the absolute only place that has these two sizes, they are BF Goodrich: 285-70-15, and 275-65-16. They are hard to find on their website but they're there.

I got that exact press and didn't use it. I'm machining a pipe to fit today at work.

Did I ruin this pinion bearing?

Right, I got another on the way, better now and be sure than pay later and regret not spending 30 bux, lol.

Did I ruin this pinion bearing?

I'm rebuilding my 12 bolt and I just put the new bearing on the pinion gear. I put the pinion in the freezer for about an hour, then put the bearing on a hot plate for just a few minutes. It heated up very quick and started smoking (burning off residue oil I guess), I turned off the heat but...

Do you have any pics of your truck with the 31x10.5x15's?

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

Here's an update that I finally came up with after hours of searching online. The whole line of BF Goodrich sport tires have been discontinued, see the info below. If you want wider/taller than the trusty 275/60/15 you have run Hoosier, Mickey's, or other race tire, or mud tires. Some sites...

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

    I wish I could find a street 295 60 15, or a 285. I'll have to stick with the trusted 275 60 15.

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

I just saw where you said for me to post a pic of my truck, but it's in pieces at the moment, ha. It's looking like I'll go with the 275/60/15. Will this size clear the front also?

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

The size I like when I put into the comparison chart is a 285x60x16, but that tire has been discontinued.

That's the one I've been using, I like how it compares two at the same time.

Right, makes it even harder to decide.

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

Thanks, I plugged the 255- 70- 15 in the comparison chart next to the 275- 60-15, it's a tad more narrow but an inch taller, may fill in the wheel well a little better.

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

Thanks for the info, I do like the 275-60-15 size. The 265-75-15 is a little more narrow. I'm looking at tiresize.com at the top of their site there's a "tire size comparison" chart. You can enter two tire sizes and view the dimensions and see the physical differences, not sure how accurate...

Tire size question. (Street tires on 2WD).

I've searched to no avail so I'm asking here. I have a 78 2wd that I'm building. I've been to several shows here lately looking at tire size combinations on these trucks. I'm going back lowered about 2", no more. I like the 275-60-15 size the best of all the sizes I've seen. The 295-50-15...

What brand of 1-2" drop shackle takes a 1 1/2" factory size bushing??

I already did, but they are 1.5" like the factory ones. The drop shackles take 1 3/8. I don't see any 1.5's in black.
