    Replace leaf springs or not?

I couldn't find were to post stock, unmodified suspension so sorry if this is in the wrong place. I am restoring a 78C10 and the rear leafs work fine, they just have some surface rust that I can remove. Has anybody seen leaf failure on older springs? I would like to keep as many original parts...

    Posting Question

Ok, I know this isn't the correct place to ask but I don't know where is: I'm looking for some parts and when I go to either buy or sell it says I have "insufficient privilages". What does this mean? thanks.

(1980 Chevy Squarebody) CKL14A1101673 In search of my fathers old truck

I don't remember what website it was but I located a 1972 Olds for my dads friend. The DMV in Texas was no help but I went online and found a place (don't remember who), and paid about 30.00 and they sent me a ton of info on it including every owner since it was new, I found the current owner...

I considered re blasting as well, I guess with your climate you don't have a choice.

Flash rust after ospho rinse question.

Ok, I did a test last night: I saw somewhere on the internet that if you rinse with denatured alcohol it won't leave flash rust. So I bought a quart just for a test. I re wet an already osphod panel with ospho, then rinsed with distilled water and still got the immediate flash rust. So I...

Flash rust after ospho rinse question.

Thanks much Ricko. I did a test three days ago, I mixed up a small bit of the epoxy and brushed it on the flash rust on a place about 10" x 10", two thick coats. I did the same on a place that I re-wet with ospho with a rag to remove the flash rust and let dry, no water rinse. After three...

Flash rust after ospho rinse question.

Hello, I have my C10 cab totally sand blasted, wiped with Ospho and it sat for a few weeks. Rolled it outside on a rotisserie and sprayed it down again and let sit for about 30 minutes to loosen up the previous ospho, then power washed with Por 15 degreaser, then water. And of course I got...

Well now that you said that I remember, lol. It's been a while since I took it apart. I'm glad I didn't do what I was fixing to do. Thanks.

Does anybody know what this is for??

Hello. Does anybody know what these two screws are for? One is a bolt, the other looks like a screw. They aren't holding anything on, the floor is embossed for them for some reason. I've know this truck since it was new and nobody did any work on it until now. It's not a bid deal, I'll just...

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Thanks much, that's what I plan on doing. I'm glad I decided against replacing the skin. You guys helped me with that decision and I appreciate it.

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

I appreciate all the replies. I don't have the old filler removed yet to show the hail damage. As I remember the hail damage isn't that bad, and I do have a unispotter. I guess I'll look to just replace the spots and use rust converter, and encapsulate what I can get to and go on.

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Ok, I'm back with another roof question. I did decide to repair my existing roof, "but". I did see several videos of roofs getting replaced. I don't like the idea of using a cutoff wheel on the rear where you can't access the spot welds and then having to but weld all the way across. But my...

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Well after I did some research on the rear spot weld flange that's inside and not accessible I decided to fix what I got. I had no idea the roof skin was that big of a job. Thanks for the replies from you both.

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Well, you know I love it, ha. Now I'm looking at either changing the roof skin or patching this one. This roof was hail damaged in 1979 (it's a 78) and my dad had a dealership fix it, they used body filler which cracked later on. I repainted it at the paint and body college in 1987 when I was...

Take a look at this rust spot, please.

Hello, this is my first time on here. I would like opinions on this rust spot, I attached a pic. It's on the top, front of the passenger door opening right behind the windshield, where the door gasket contacts. I have the whole truck stripped down and this is the only rust spot it has except...
