Paint Schemes
Repaint the stripe a color more contrasting will be easiest. I vote for a darker blue. -

Defrost duct
Mine looks similar, I am considering adding some plastic attached with rivets and the silver duct tape. Might work on that tomorrow and if I do I will post a few pics. -

Adjusting the doors with genuine GM NOS door weather strip rubbers which are from the 80s hanging out in a box from the shed. It’s still a 20 footer. -

I did it myself after a ridiculous amount of prep time since it had 7 layers of coatings which were lifting. After sanding, I sprayed epoxy primer then Herculiner, which is a two part mix. You will need a respirator if you’re going to do it yourself since it uses an isocynate hardener. -

Installed the tailgate finally after plastidip the hinges to reduce the slop and rattles. Probably took 50 dips. The over sprayed rubber hardware cleaned up well with citristrip. I still have to griswold the tailgate trim band before installing. I also will need some white touch up before I... -

Should be four screws on the backside securing it, carefully remove screws so it comes off, you may need an impact screw driver if too tight. -

SMH Of course. I'm going to give it some baking soda paste then a brass brush treatment to clean as best as possible. Rinse and blow out with compressor. Cross digits and hope it's better than mechanic in a can. Not wanting to wrassle pulling connectors for replacement, but it may come to that... -

Thought about spraying it but too much work for an area mostly hidden, plus if I can avoid the toxic paint I will every time. After this one dries I will brush on the second coat. -

Brushed some safety orange paint on the cowl drain seal which I resealed a few days ago. A little more prep and paint in that area and I can start the reassembly head scratching. -

Sprayed orange this morning before all the bugs woke up and the wind kicks up. The stripes are a little cobbly because I didn’t pull the tape soon after painting the white so I had to score it. I didn’t make that mistake 2x. Hopefully I can spray blue tomorrow. -

Found some limited time to tape the white in preparation for the colored hood stripes. Gonna paint orange first, hopefully next few days. It’s been a bit breezy and buggy for painting so I am keeping busy with landscaping, skiing, fishing and off-road racing.
