Installing 1985 turn signals to an 81 Silverado (vertical style) grille?
I have an 83 Frankenstein with 82 bumper which I am gonna install the 82 grill with 83 head lights/ turn signals. The 82 bumper turn lights will be fog lights. Before and after pics, actually looks brown after using black dye. I’m gonna let it dry out to see what if it changes color more. Next, I think I will add some faded blue jeans. -

Dyeing the red carpet brown, first used chocolate brown dye which turned red to maroon, drained that and used black so I will call it mystery color until it’s been rinsed. I bought this heater to get up to 180F which directions state is needed for 60 mins. Be careful, if the heater isn’t... -

I read the chrome paints are much richer looking when sprayed over high gloss black. I cannot confirm but I plan to try it on my interior bezels soon. -

My 83, has wires first going to left tail light then going to the right tail light, in the middle PO spliced for trailer wiring; did terrible work which I am redoing with butt connectors, sealed. I think color wires follow standard diagrams.- mxer147

Cleaned and installed the ac evaporator box, and cab vent system. Redid some tail light wire splices, shiny tape and gaskets; sprayed and removed two hornet nests in the right corner. Installed battery tray so I can go to the car wash to again spray the underside for some more coatings. Washed... -
Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!
Those older style emblems have a lot of space between the letters which will require a lot of intricate tape surgery versus the newer style has none. They also are hollow behind the letters so not much surface area for adhesive tape. I’m planning to fill epoxy in a couple of areas of the letters...- mxer147

Mounting fender emblems should not cause this much anxiety!
The backside of the fender may have the locating holes for the general emblem peg locations. If you can get a measurement from a reference point (body line/ fender edge), you can use some blue tape on the fender to draw a straight line, and mark the drill points based on the center to center...- mxer147

Switches
Connected to two different spliced fusible link wires so that is a three wire connection using a twist connector. I’m guessing switch was used to disconnect power to the cab for an unknown power draw that would drain the battery. I’m gonna try to find the other spliced wires, lots of black tape...- mxer147

I found several threads which state red to positive, black to negative and blue to a resistor which my truck has so I’ll wire it up and test it. If it works it might stay, if not, it’s trash. The other switch still a mystery.- mxer147

Yes, it’s a Kelsey Hayes brake controller which PO didn’t wire up so it doesn’t work. I’m going to test it to see if it works. Online wiring illustrations show four wires, this one only has three, missing the white wire. Thoughts?- mxer147

I’ve been working on dash wiring yesterday evening and today since I am working on the hvac vents so I’m back to the mystery switch which I traced one wire connected to two fusible links going through the firewall and the other wire going to the block terminal on the firewall.
