Alternator?
I did replace the battery but the voltage drop was mostly due to misfiring so badly that the engine would stop running unless I feathered some fuel.- mxer147

What have you done to your square lately??
Something every day….hung front wheel well trim yesterday and side marker lights today. New headlamp won’t arrive until Monday so can’t finish grill till next week. Figure out a few things to complete tomorrow in the engine cavity and interior. -
Alternator?
Did all the work mentioned above and some more work but hot misfire condition persisted until I replaced the ignition control module. Slapped some heat sink paste on new part which solved the problem. Now it needs some new wheel bearings since the crappy Covid quality parts are failing.- mxer147

What have you done to your square lately??
Today, Align body panels and hood to my sack of walnuts. Yesterday, worked under the hood. This happened when the hammer head decided to let loose, could have been worse, ouch. Try to do at least one thing every day. -

Hung both fenders yesterday but still need to shim them some for better fitment. I’ll move to the hood after fenders look right. It’s still a 20 footer; and gives me more respect for those that have the patience to restore them to factory condition. Sure is a lot of work with all that surface... -

Finally ran the wiring for power door locks and mirrors into the cab, fishing the wires was a little tricky but not too bad. I still need to land all the wires but I can now work on installing the fenders and body panels alignment which should increase my motivation to make more progress on the... -

Also exterior windshield washer lines and cowl, then mounted the grill to see if the white color is runnable, it looks okay from 10 feet like the rest of the truck. I need to complete the door lock and mirror wiring before I can mount the fenders, need to extend some wires and add 4 pin wire... -

It’s a hard plastic material but I don’t see where it connects from point A to point B. -

I found this plastic tube/line melted in the engine bay? It goes behind the plastic firewall cover which I would rather avoid removing. -
Cowl clips
The originals were either missing or broke when I removed the cowl. I have been unsuccessful finding new ones so I used these which I hope isn’t permanent. Anyone know where I can buy the correct clips or have a better idea for the cowl clips? I need about 5-6 clips.- mxer147

Drip Rail
After removing the two sided tape on drip rail mating surface, the bare metal looks like it could be prone to rusting? Does that surface get repainted? Or does the new two sided tape seal the surface so it won’t rust? Seems like painting it could cause the surface to not sit flat on the cab?- mxer147

Nice day so I worked on some interior welding that’s needed. -
Bedside repair- wheel well
That one will be hard to get at from the back side but if you can use some long rods with angles behind it you might be able to push it out to where you are okay with a little filler. I accessed several dents using long rods through the tail lights. Maybe you can get behind it from the middle...- mxer147

Working on the doors, installed the remote power door lock actuators; also the door locks, drilled the interior cab holes to run the wiring under the dash. I have power mirrors so I need to run those wires too but PO cut them so I need to add more wire. I’m gonna keep the manual windows. -
My new to me 01' SSEI
Sweet ride with many years and miles remaining…great find! 275k on my 1999 SE 3.8, mostly a winter beater daily driver and pet transporter now though. Still like driving it but the highway wind noise is getting worse, EVERYTHING else still works as designed.- mxer147

Last month I used an external fluid pump for 50k transmission service to empty the pan. It sure reduced the mess from draining and spilling since I pumped the old fluid directly into the recycling container. I still removed the pan, cleaned and replaced the filter. When to stop trying to fix all body imperfections?
Agree with Rick, some of my shoddy body work is showing through now that it’s sat outside for many months and surface materials shrunk. The doors look the worse which is where I started my body work efforts and thought they would be the easiest so I wasn’t meticulous enough. For me, it’s an old...- mxer147
