    Rotor discoloration, pulsing

I just noticed that the F shaft has significant play at the differential. I think the inner shaft is the issue. Any advice?

    Rotor discoloration, pulsing

Just replaced rotors and pads because of pulsing so I thought the rotor was warped. The problem still exists and I notice the new rotor is discolored. Bad wheel bearing? Maybe caliper? I greatly appreciate your help, thank you. 2014 gmc sierra 1500.

Need help with identifying my door year

Thank you for the response Bucket. What’s confusing me is the main window channel seal. LMC calls out a one piece or two piece design based on year range. When I took it apart it looked like two pieces (73-80) but they were in rough shape so not positive; the 81-87 are one piece design. Not sure...

Need help with identifying my door year

This was the most relevant thread I read which relates to the same issue I have. I am not sure which seals I should purchase. I believe my doors are 81-87 with single seal wing windows. Any insight would be greatly appreciated?

What have you done to your square lately??

Welded and filled holes in the doors and dash, lots of sanding too.

    Getting quotes for paint/body work

Brutal! Since my truck is parked and always will be parked outside, I’ve decided to not throw hard earned money away on expensive materials and skilled labor. I’m going the multi coat enamel primitive DIY route, in another 50 years it will be the highly sought after Pantene version. I already...

What have you done to your square lately??

DA sanding the inside of the cab and cleaned up the caulk that was holding on the door weather seals. I pretty much stripped the inside which revealed really bad rust on the driver floor pan which was a result of carpet padding holding moisture. Im not happy about the extra work but that’s how...

    Anyone vinyl wrapped their truck?

I recently purchased cherry wood grain wrap intended for the interior and possibly the exterior moldings. I haven’t installed it so I can’t tell you if it is a success or failure.

    Show your daily driver

Actually, pretty easy to do just the upper, a little more work to do the lower since you have to remove water and power steering pump. The lower intake gaskets are a known issue so I proactively replaced at around 120k when I needed to do some other proactive work up top. If you see white smoke...

    Show your daily driver

Put a new upper plenum, valve cover gaskets, plugs and wires on the Pontiac Bonneville 3800, daily driver. Hopefully good for another 150000 rounds. Purrs like a kitten and less fluid leaks. Gonna deush the interior soon before the snow flies. Now, back to work on the square.

Agree, love those aluminum slots but tire choices too limited. Thus, I sold my set for cheap.

What new tools have you got lately?

Tried citristrip on a section, kinda slow and only removed a single coat. Not a fan of harsh chemical risks, hoping most of those coats are thin bomb spray so the nylon paint remover roller works easy. If not, I will be considering plan B, not sure what that might be. Gonna take my time and...

What have you done to your square lately??

I did pull the plugs but I left all the belts on so the power steering, alternator and water pump were also rotating. As the valves were adjusting properly, it got more difficult to rotate as we would expect. Maybe the GM hot cam also increases cylinder pressures?

What have you done to your square lately??

Adjusted the rocker arms and carb, 350 vortec purrs like a lion, amazing how much quieter the valve train improved, and idle. Bent these grade 5, 3/8x4-32 bolts rotating the engine 4 complete revolutions. Also tightened the header bolts but still have a slight leak on passenger side, probably...

Necessity is ??????? Study this pic

I believe it, you are an awesome problem solver. Those come alongs are worth their weight in gold. I used one to move my thousand pound safe from my truck bed when it laid horizontally. I pushed the safe out of the bed carefully just until it started tipping off the tailgate and gravity lowered...
