The TBI injectors are basically just On/Off solenoid valves. The fuel pressure is created by the pump in the tank and is regulated by the regulator spring located in the rear top of the throttle body itself. GM used different size injectors for each engine. I cannot tell you which size is for... -

I am not positive on this and I know someone will correct me... The system on the '87 TBI is Very Primitive. If there is no check engine light (the OP did not say he was getting one) then there is no code to read and no information to be read by a scanner tool. If there was a check engine...- Redfish

Dexron II or Manual Transmission Oil??
Is this what your shift knob looks like? My truck is an '87 and it had gear oil from the factory. And it currently has gear oil. My transfer case had ATF from the factory and that is what I put back in it.- Redfish

From personal experience with an '87 TBI... You can run a few degrees of advance on the timing. I was somewhere around 8 degrees until I set it back to zero for the installation of the stage 1 chip. Nv3500 into an 86 k10, but not a normal swap.
I don't have any answers but I am really happy to see you posting here again! I had that transmission in a '95 GMC and I loved it. It would certainly be a more useful and modern transmission in your '86. Sorry I am no help with your problems.- Redfish

Nope, the bearing is just raising hell and making a lot of noise when the belt tension is high. I cannot see the pulley getting out of alignment but the noise is surely there. -

Well, once again I was wrong. It was pure coincidence that the noise went away during my troubleshooting. The fan clutch was NOT the noise. It was the alternator. That alternator has less than 5K miles on it and I paid good money for the AC Delco part. I remember when I installed it that... -

Well, first of all how are you going to get fuel to the carburetor? The electric pumps in the tank(s) are part of the TBI system. Your engine block most likely does not have a place to install the old mechanical fuel pump, the one in my '87 sure doesn't. Second, I am betting your nephew does... -

Trying to identify this color of blue
I don't know what name GM gave to the blue of the last few years of the square body but I can tell you two things. 1. It is slightly lighter than that pic makes it look. 2. It is a solid color, no metallic or metalflake.- Redfish
