Torque specs, spring bolts and u bolts

87 K5 Blazer. New spring packs. If anyone can help, torque specs are needed for spring eye bolts and u bolts. Front spring bolts are 9/16 front and 7/16 rear, and the rear spring bolts are 9/16 front and rear, all grade 8, and all U bolts are standard size. Here’s a before and after pic...

    Leaf spring bolt sizes

Thanx guys yes the above is correct. The rears are 4.5” long. 5 was okay with several washers. There’s limited space on the nut side.

    Leaf spring bolt sizes

Thanks I got 5” as I couldnt find half sizes in Grade 8. Hopefully not too long

    Leaf spring bolt sizes

87 K5 Blazer Installing spring packs and need bolts. Ordered from Rock Auto but they were wrong. Bushings measure 9/16 but how long? 5”? And the front spring front bushings measure more like 7/16 but will be a little sloppy. Is that ok? Or are they metric or something?

LS surging idle throttle blade hole

Yes summit stage 1 cam, very mild cam. Iac could be dirty but everything else checks out, i do have a 3200 stall converter as well. I did have sort of a surge with the old truck but very rarely would it stall. And with this truck within 15 minutes of driving around the block It got way better...

    LS bellhousing stiffener rods

So side brace #1, or strut rod as you called it, is the long one from bell housing to the tcase (good idea) And side brace #2, going to frame rail, would be the two rods going from bell housing to motor mount plate (bad idea) Am I reading you correctly?

LS surging idle throttle blade hole

Hey guys I have a 5.3 LS in my K5 Blazer with a mild cam and a 3200 stall converter. This motor was in my 04 2wd that I had for years and it worked great but would surge at times, during idling or shifting into reverse in some cases and kind of almost stall but maybe very very rarely actually...

    Transfer case drop

I was thinking about this. Would definitely benefit as it sits now. Hopefully will have enough clearance (should) after the lift to keep it in the middle position

    Transfer case drop

I pulled the trigger on a 2” all spring. Will ditch the sway bar as suggested here and i also got 1” zero rates coming in case i need a lil more.

    Transfer case drop

Thanks for the link. I am still on the fence between 2” and 4”. I am only running about a 31” on a 16x10 but getting some pretty severe rubbing on the rear part of front fender. I had to run a spacer to get the rim away from the tie rods so there is about 1 tread block sticking out past the...

    Transfer case drop

The 4” looks good but not too extreme. But u have a long bed. My K5 DS is short and Im worried about driveline vibration I also dont think i could squeeze 35s on stock height, i have a 31-32 right now and they rub at full lock

    Transfer case drop

    Can i just remove it?
  18. K5Rob

    Transfer case drop

So do u think 4” lift on a k5 blazer wont have driveline issues?
  19. K5Rob

    Transfer case drop

I need to correct myself. It wasnt a transfer case drop they recommend it was a sway bar drop

    Transfer case drop

Do u have a pic of your truck with the lift?

    Transfer case drop

87 K5 Blazer, 5.3/4L60E/NP208 I am planning on a lift kit in the 2-4” range and a transfer case drop is recommended by the mfr. I just finished squaring away my transfer case stiffener arm that runs up to the bell housing. (Had to lengthen it but it was off a parts truck with unknown running...

    Floor and rocker options

So i decided to use a roll on bedliner just to give everything a uniform appearance and also I did some heavy patching up front, floors, rockers etc and cleaned up some of the PO’s work as well and the textured bedliner just helped hide the seams and blend everything in without making a mountain...

    LS swap DBW pedal geometry

So this is what I ended up with. Half the DBW assembly and half the existing pedal. Bolted because I didnt want to fry the sensor. Geometry took a while to get to my liking but seems to work fine

    LS bellhousing stiffener rods

So unfortunately I tossed the bar that was on the transfer case, not sure how that happened. But i found one at the scrap yard but apparently it’s different as the holes dont line up with my 208. And thankfully I had some round stock on hand although it was larger diameter. I had to throw a kink...

    Oil pressure gauge not working

Okay well I got it working. With much messing around. Pulled the cluster and found there was no contact to the “board” behind it. Shoved some male spade terminals in there and now my gauge works. Of course i messed with the ground first. Took teflon off, reinstalled, no dice. And it leaked. Put...
