    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

Ok last question, maybe lol… Why wouldn’t you sell it for $15k when you had that offer on the table? I mean, in the Texas market and all…

No, but did you see that shortbox 2 tone blue truck like yours that he posted? That thing is beautiful!

Ok maybe it wasn’t your paw paws truck, my mistake. But you’re the one who said it’s the best Maaco job out there. (FWIW, seen plenty of gooood paint jobs and collision repairs come out of Maaco. You get what you pay for and they will do nothing or everything depending how much $ you plop down).

I guess he is doubling his perspective market of “just like grand dads truck” buyers since grandad could have had a black truck or a red 2 tone….because this one is actually both!

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

So I had to go back and look at your pics…lemme get this straight… It was a red and metallic gray truck it appears (attractive popular 2 tone for sure) that you basically shut the doors, taped off the glass and sprayed it BLACK? Not to mention painting black on something that isn’t flat and...

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

I’m sorry you’re not getting rich off of paw paws old truck just because you got Maaco to squirt a gallon of Rustoleum on it “as is.” And without name calling, you are the one who actually asked for opinions about why it’s not worth as much as you hope or think it is. You may consider this a...

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

Ok, so you already have your answer…. No one paid $10k or whatever for the banged up old rust buckets because they didn’t have to regardless of whether the website says “SOLD” or not. Yet your using them as a real world comparison of values?

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

Ok so? In the same breath you’re saying the chitboxes actually fetched some big $ (I don’t care enough to look it up) and some stupid amount of $ exchanged hands for beat up dump run trucks yet yours didn’t and anyone can back out at any time…..but the junkers got big money….. Ok. May take a min...

Or since I’m ignorant to BaT, your saying it’s just a sham, basically?

    TX87R10 rendered this thread useless

I think you need to sober up or something… That blue shortbed you posted is NICE! Not sure who what when how you think those junkers sold for “more” than your truck that you didn’t sell. Just like idk how BaT is just a listing site and not an online auction. Either I’m extremely dense or...

73 K20 Driver Side Fuel Tank Sending Unit - 1 Port or 2 Ports?

^Basically yes to all that. You could drop in 3 port senders and plug the unused ports with no issue and the ability to do/redo it however you want in the future. Cost is negligible. If I was thinking hot summer driving and possibly low speed like 4 wheelin I’d think hard about just doing the...

    1978 k30

Totally unrelated. Carb vs transmission. It’s evident that you haven’t had much time to work on the truck and aren’t that knowledgeable, so let’s start with what we know and the easy stuff. 1. A 7x16 tandem enclosed presumably steel frame lined with (wtf?) 3/4” plywood is probably about...

255 vs 285 metric 33” tires on factory wheel

I’m maybe not understanding the question. You want to see pics of both sizes on a square? Or connundrum about the brand/performance? If it’s wet/snow performance, and those rice grinder mudders are in good shape and run out good, just get them siped full width as deep as possible and go eat up...

Well I’d say those results are not accurate in any apples to apples test.

Suggestions on best way to transport a 454

First I’d be more worried about the liability of “losing” an engine off the back of a flatbed on the freeway before the sentimental part. lol. Haven’t moved that many engines and hasnt been in this century but setting it on/in an old tire and strapping it down seems to be easy enough.

73 K20 Driver Side Fuel Tank Sending Unit - 1 Port or 2 Ports?

I don’t know the specific answer but my understanding is one port tanks vent thru the gas cap (and no return line of course). Always thought it was 1 or 3 port, when they changed it in whatever year.

    8x165.1 rims on 8x6.5?

Ok makes sense. 3rd and 4th gen Ram alloys are a great cheap option. 17s to 20s in lots of styles. As I don’t really like H2 or PYO wheels I’d be looking at Dodge / Ram for cheap nice takeoffs. They are all positive offset (sorry @bucket) wheels so they tuck in more but I wouldn’t expect any...

Want to swap my 6.2 hard to start

I’ll say (if you’re not just one and done posting) take a step back and figure out what you want. You don’t say how it runs, how old the pump is and whether the glow plugs work. If it’s a good running engine you can to a whole lot for less $ and less time and less pain in the ass to just get...

First Square body, now the fix it while I'm in there issues.

My gen VI 454 is just stock. So not much help. But if I had a dually that already had a NV4500 in it, I’d be thinking real hard about a 12V or possibly a 24V diesel. Regarding the wiring, if you want to add all that stuff I may just buy a new harness and gut everything and start over. It’s...

surface rust specs under paint, what to do before primer

Oxidation doesn’t occur without oxygen. If it’s rust spots buried under original paint and lasted 50 years, clean it up, hit it with a primer that will stick like your epoxy and move on to the next step. Pitted spots fill with bindo not JB.

Blower Motor Fan Speed does not work on High

My 77 is the same way but I haven’t looked into it, it is healthy at the lower speeds. I read (probably here) that the 3 lower speeds run direct power thru the switch in the cab but hi speed runs thru a relay with a different power source. So likely it’s that source or the relay is bad.
