You ain’t lyin!! It snowed strong all day, we ended up at 7.5”. It’s insane to open the door to walk my dogs and see so much snow.

Here’s mine during Snowmageddon ‘25. 6” of snow here in Mobile, Alabama (30 miles from the coast) and still going strong. Today set an all time record for the city.

Header clearance front shackle 86 k10

That really depends on the springs themselves, most lift springs are fairly stiff but custom or lower rate springs can move more.

Any R/V crew cab guys? I'm new here

Yeah, mine was a ‘91 also with a 4l80e. I wish it had had a 454 but it had a 350, it was a former USAF truck so I felt lucky it wasn’t a 6.2 diesel.

Any R/V crew cab guys? I'm new here

I was a V series guy but I sold it almost 20 years ago and still regret it. Edit: I wasn’t thinking, I’m still a V series guy because my Blazer is a ‘91. Post up a pic of what you have, everyone loves a cool truck.

    Adapter between SM465 and NP205

Interesting, I always thought the true synchronized versions were available for like 2~4 years and only in the early figure 8 style that ended in ‘84. @WRW86 your 205 has this oiling vein on the rear cover?

Header clearance front shackle 86 k10

If it’s not already, turn the shackle bolt so that the bolt head is towards the header and the thread/nut are on the outside. I’ve run Hedman’s forever on small and big blocks and while they can be close to the header I’ve never had an actual interference problem.

Need help identifying sloppy driveshaft/diff play!

You need to isolate the slop. I’d pull the driveshaft and look at it and its components separately. If you’re seeing slop where the 2 pc driveshaft comes together it could be as simple as a ujoint or as complicated as the male/female splines of the slop yoke. Around an 1/8th of a turn at the...

2005 Ram 2500 Free Spin Install & Other Goodies

Everything looks great. I didn’t realize the rotors were still loose in these kits, I just assumed (I know…) they were retained by the studs like older axles.

    489ci tow build...

Just my .02.... I wouldn't (didn't) spend the money on new pistons (forged or other) and stay at a low 8.5 comp, I'm not saying shoot for the moon but I'd go for 9:1. A stroker rotating assembly is a decent investment to still end up with a low compression motor when you have choices.

Dexron II or Manual Transmission Oil??

This will be an SM465 transmission which used gear oil forever. It's possible the last few years had ATF spec'd for improved economy, the NP205 tcase was this way. I run gear oil in my SM465 (mixed years of parts plus aftermarket tailshaft).

    SM465 swap into 92 suburban.

If you need to use granny gear while street driving the truck is grossly under geared.

    SM465 swap into 92 suburban.

I don't know much about the newer body style trucks but I do know the sm465's used in them had the shift tower located a few inches rearward of where the square body version was located. You may want to take some measurements and make sure the earlier forward placement won't interfere with the...

Will ford 8lug hubs work on our Chevy front ends?

For a D60, the bearing hub, stub axle and spindle are all 5/8” shorter than GM. I don’t know if the above holds true for 1/2 and 3/4 tons but Ford 1/2 tons would be 5 lug. Also note that GM and Dodge knuckles have 6 studs for the spindle and caliper bracket, Ford only has 5.

    3+3 $750

@vr1967 let me rephrase that - what have you got? With respect to today’s skyrocketing market pricing I tend to be a little jaded / skeptical, sorry.

2005 Ram 2500 Free Spin Install & Other Goodies

When I eventually buy a kit for my Dodge I'm going with whomever uses the shortest bearing hub and then put some Spicer locking hubs on it. There's a recipe of Ford parts to convert a 2nd gen Dodge axle to have locking hubs.
