    Questions about... My rear end?

Something to consider is that the D60 most likely has 1.31" dia axle shafts so they don't offer much of a strength upgrade over a 1/2 ton axle other than the better weight bearing design of a full floater vs semi floater axle. The ring & pinion is bigger than 1/2 ton and the Power Lock is...

    Leaf Spring Torque

A lot of people view ubolts as a 1 time use part. That said, I’ve reused a lot of them and I’ll be reusing my current rear ubolts when I do an upcoming project. IMO, the quality of the part plays a big roll in their reuse abilities. I probably wouldn’t reuse lift kit ubolts because they’re...

battery junction Block issue ( see photos)

No offense but you've repeated this multiple times now so I'm guessing you're hoping someone will clearly say "you don't need it". The fact is that in OE configuration it serves a purpose but once you've done a motor swap with a completely different (modified) harness that includes another...

Truck pulled while still in park

Does the external selector have one or multiple clicks? My initial thought is that you may have broken the parking pawl inside the trans but if the external linkage to the column broke who knows. Pull the pan and look for bits and pieces?

    is this a Frankentruck?

The 400/203 will be ‘79 or older. Technically, the 400 could be newer but the tailshaft required for the 203 is unique to that combo so it’s likely that it was all installed together. Also, I don’t think the th400 had become the default 3spd auto yet in ‘85 so it’s unlikely that any th400 came...

    Dana 60 drw hubs

I think I saw where Hillbilly Off Road was running a sale on SRW hubs. I have read that DRW hub values are rising because no one reproduces them. Just sayin

Will this lift fit my k5/jimmy?

I agree that if it's just a street driven, looks cool type of build an open diff 10 bolt will last a long time. The factory Gov Lock locking differential is extremely light duty and fails easily which in turn takes out other parts. Going with a tall lift you'll likely need a CV joint at the...

Will this lift fit my k5/jimmy?

Yes and no, the front springs and hardware will fit your Blazer HOWEVER, the rear u-bolts and 56" springs will not. The rear u-bolts will be for a 14 bolt which has bigger axles tubes than a 10 bolt and Blazers have 52" rear springs.

    Leaf spring eye bolts?

    Leaf Spring Torque

Some fasteners need to be torqued. Some fasteners need to be as tight as you can reasonably get them. A big bolt on a leaf spring, I’ve never torqued one but I’ll run them down until my air gun starts sweating. If you don’t have air tools, make it a little tighter than a lug nut. Something...

SM465 will not go into 2nd

With that much end play of the input shaft, I'd bet the wheels locking up is the result of parts moving out of position and locking / binding up the transmission itself. I'd dig into it a lot sooner than later while it's still (hopefully) rebuildable.

SM465 will not go into 2nd

The input shaft should only have a few thousandths of end play so 1/2" is definitely a problem.

What have you done to your square lately??

Yessir! I don't have to trailer it but between the cost of Boggers, yelling because of the wind noise, sunburn on my head and getting blown away by everyone on the interstate I'd rather pull it in my comfy quiet Megacab. :Big Laugh:

I’m going to take it to the tag office this week and ask for a replacement but I’m betting they’re going to bill me for it. :insane:

    Cooling suggestions k5 454

What do you mean by “larger fan”? What was the fan from? I’ve used both factory 7 blade (standard rotation) and 9 blade (reverse rotation) fans without shroud issues.

    Cooling suggestions k5 454

I used to run that cooling system recipe in my old K10 with a 454 and it worked fantastic. When I built my Blazer I actually bumped the system up a bit. I now run a 4 row radiator & shroud from a 6.2 diesel (same 4 row thickness and height but 6” wider than a gas radiator). This radiator has...

What have you done to your square lately??

I spent yesterday indirectly working on my Blazer, I replaced the deck on my trailer so I could haul it to a square meet next Saturday.

    Driver’s door decals

I’d love to get a replacement door VIN sticker with the date of production. My door had the sticker up high so when I cut the window frame off I “lost” it, I want one to put back on below the window line.
