    The cracks typically spread from the steering box mounting bolts and run from there. For a good inspection I’d unbolt the box and swing it out of the way then clean the frame really good.

    Yeah, I don't know when things changed in the qjets, just that it was a problem and epoxying them was commonplace with rebuilders.

    Keep it low! I ran a 7" Harwood scoop on my old K10 to clear a tall carb and it was annoying to look around.

    Since GM only used 70's in dual wheel applications, I imagine a posi / locking diff would be prone to breaking axles (especially under a heavy load).

    I’m not familiar with the Edelbrock carbs. I know a problem with older qjets is that they can leak fuel from well plugs into the motor causing a dry carb and a possible flooded condition, is this possible with the Edelbrocks?

    Any company that sells lift kits should be able to get a hardware only kit. 90% of all front lift springs have the same quantity of leaves ( = spring pack thickness) so it would seem that the ubolts would be the same for 2” as 12”.

    Good point @Blazerbiker the soft top attaches to a snap strip installed on the skin above the windshield, I don't believe it uses any of the factory channel that the hard top locks in to.

    I’m going to say yes, mostly because any POS is worth $3000-$4000 in today’s market. Something doesn’t look right on the bed. I doesn’t seem right that you can see so much through the wheel openings, it’s almost like the bed floor and wheel tubs are gone.
