    Thought about that but was worried about where the wire would come out inside with all the window stuff right there, got the hardest part of the wiring done-- getting the wire inside the cab thru the rubber boot on the door!! time for my best first beer of the day!!

    update to the mirror project, got the new gaskets for the door and mirror mount bracket the new ones seem to be a lot thicker than the originals. anyone else ran into this?? so much so that the stainless cover with the grommet on the top won't fit- looks like I may have to gently grind some of...

    the mirrors are on the truck, turned out pretty good!! they don't stick out much further than the stock style and will give much better visibility!! soon as the new gasket get here I can wrap up this little pain in the ass!!

    went a different route on mounting the mirrors.wish I had thought of this prior to drilling a couple holes!! I am using the stock mount for the lower portion and then some aftermarket brackets for the upper. Much more solid!! I am going to use bolts and nuts to mount the bracket to the...

    So today I got the passenger side mirror almost done, then got started on the new door pull straps, just some black leather for those. Ii will be running wire thru the door for the heated mirrors then to a switch but want to make sure all is good with the mirrors before I get to crazy!!

    I thought the retainer had to screw down somewhat tight on the connector but if its just a formality then no problem

    anybody got a good trick for tightening the connection on the door window switch?? Mine don't seem to want to tighten up. Yes they are new screw caps. Its the retainer that hold the connector on the switch

    still waiting on a couple of brackets for the mirror project, hopefully they will get here by next week!!, also figure to replace the window switches while I got the door apart as well as new felts and channel liners!!

    where is the best place to buy new window felts and channel liner?? I've heard that some make it difficult for the window to go up and down for awhile.Don't want to burn up a motor !!

    got a question, might not be the right spot to ask but here I go. the window channels on my 87 seem to be felt lined and rigid, not the rubber ones on the Brothers truck video. any ideas??

    just got my swap over to J-hook style wiper arms, got the wet arm all hooked up, I bought a couple universal nozzles to put out near the wiper the Dorman 42631 arms are 4mm wide so ya got to find nozzles that will fit them, got mine on Amazon. Also had to drill a detent hole in the arm to hold...

    well since I got the brake lights figured out-----again, today was spent getting new wire in for the new dome light! bought the socket kit from LMC didn't want to try fishing the wire thru so did a cut and solder job and now ready to go back together with the head liner!!

    my 87 gmc decided the brake lights didn't want to work---again.I had already posted about this awhile back. longstory short the connection between the harness and the turn signal switch the white wire on the female side was loose! a little tweak with a screw driver and a light bend to the male...

    got my 87 V2500 in the shop trying to button up some loose ends, currently chasing down a no brake light issue again on this thing. got the new ashtray springs installed so the door isn't just hanging open just waiting on winter to get into gear up hear or we will be in sad shape for fires next...
