    New bed side recommendations?

AMD stuff is as nice as aftermarket get's. But in Nebraska, you're pretty close to rust free southwest OE panels and beds.

96 Fuel Pump Strainer Does Not Fit

Idk about your question specifically, but a96 fuel pump is running 58 psi, and your 87 is only like 12. So it's only an upgrade if you're doing an LS swap, or other MPFI.

    Aftermarket Carb

I am shocked, stunned, and amazed to see that the gentleman who makes his living selling carbs says the only path to success is to buy from him. Did not see that coming! Anywho, my XP version showed up last night, it's made out of Play Do and completely uncoated, ignore the chrome finish. I...

    8.1 vortec into 1979 k30

If I had a mild 8.1, the RHP cam is what I would choose at the moment. Like all things, balancing cost, effectiveness. It's the best bang for the buck unless you can find a used 502 cam for less.

    Aftermarket Carb

This is the cheapest Ebay intake on my 5.3 with the Evil Energy carb, on my Chinese Harbor Freight stand, put together with tools from my Harbor Freight toolbox, running fine lol. My 5.9 Cummins in my F350 runs great with it's Chinese injection pump too. Either China is an existential threat...

Drop the pan, change the filter, party on. It's really all that was ever intended, and more than most ever do right up to 300,000.

Newly built 6 years ago. First time starting?

I put these pushrods in my 6. 0 8 years ago after I transposed 6800 to 8600 for shift points and bent the originals. Still in there today, still a running driving engine.

Good reading about zinc and oil

People for sure wipe out cams, same as they smash converters into pumps, break head bolts off in blocks, stab distributors so wrong they wind up scrapping a vehicle over it... But I have no idea out, because I just manage to use the cheapest tractor supply oil, run bolts down with an impact...

What parts do you carry with you?

My C10 is LS swapped, and has a 4L80, so a laptop if needed, fuses, zip ties, fancy tape. My K20 is pretty mediocre, so I would keep fuses, zip ties, wire, bailing wire, and and HEI module in it.

Newly built 6 years ago. First time starting?

I'll say it then too. Has to happen first to know though. Feel free to take em all apart, finger bang em to death, paint them with lube, crank them for hours without coils... I start them.

Newly built 6 years ago. First time starting?

I lube my engines by starting them. Every engine, every time. I don't care how long it's sat. Fire it up.

What have you done to your square lately??

Because the weather has turned, I did nothing to either square. I did spend some time trying to get these upper doors onto my side by side, took 5 months for them to arrive, will probably take me five months to assemble lol. And some time on a minor office remodeling at home.

Wanted ASAP! 74 floor/firewall column gasket!

Good to know they're not available, I was going to order a new one for my cab swap.

What have you done to your square lately??

Randomly been pulling a few bolts here, soaking a few in Blaster there after work each day before dark. Not much of note on the K20. No excuse for not pulling the C10 apart yet, will work on that this weekend.

What have you done to your square lately??

I've always turned my water on first, sometimes I still get some cavitation or whatever, but it seems to work itself out.

Good reading about zinc and oil

I put absolutely 0 thought into any of this, never lose a cam, and just manage to bumble my way through life without issue lol.

1984 K10 LS Swap - Lots of Little Problems

Sounds like you have it well in hand. I can only imagine how many pics the previous owner put all over Instagram with the captions buy once cry once, or done right. With no one ever knowing what kind of crap he really did lol.

    Rust Repair on Squarebody Chevy

I would 100% replace that cab. 500 bucks and a road trip. Or... Tek screw some drop in floor pans to it and roll another 5-6 years.
