    You're in DFW, you don't even have to travel to get a better cab, they're just sitting in alleys all around you lol. I wouldn't waste a single penny patching that. 500-1000, get a new cab. Shop is definitely going to be way more.

    I have totes of stuff, I have three pallet racks, full of totes of stuff lol. At some point, have to start making choices, and if it's outside, it's gotta go. If I've tried to sell it more than 3 times, it's gotta go. If I can't give it away, it goes in the next load of scrap. What's funny...

    You didn't. Put a post up for 500 and see how many people you get asking when they can pick it up vs how many you get asking if you'll take 40 bucks, a stick of gum, an xbox that doesn't work, will it fit my 305, how do I use it, how many miles were on it, what brand of gas was used in it.

    I'll just transfer my original one, need to finish stripping that cab of the stuff I want before I haul it off for scrap. Need to get the bed off the donor before I start loading the trailer back up with scrap.

    Mount repaired, referred to the wrong year mount when I cut these, whatever. Cab is almost in place, not clearing transfer case, have to cut more.

    I tried, years ago, failed. Took them to my local glass shop, he kept them 8 months, bent the hell out of the frames, also failed, now it's all sitting in boxes and I have crappy rusty donor doors on my rust free truck just to have windows lol.

    SPECIFICALLY I am speaking of cutting all the brackets off and the housing back to expose the tube so you can do whatever with it. I've done one, and it was massively labor intensive, I think in the future I'd just buy a housing. https://motobilt.com/blogs/tech/super-duty-dana-axle-truss-prep

    Not dragging the welder out today, but these mount patches turned out perfectly. Have to go to Illinois tomorrow and it'll eat my entire day and evening, probably get them welded Wednesday.

    Downside to the Ford stuff is it's very wide, and wide tires will hit the spring. The coil axles can have the housing peeled back to expose the tube, but it's fairly laborious.

    I use Pentrol for stuff like that. Last 3-4 months, but only takes 47 cents to wipe another coat on.

    Need to repair the cab mounts on the frame, so this is about as far as I can go with the cab swap this weekend. Time to start clean up.
