What have you done to your square lately??

I've put like... maybe 15 miles on it today, and it's not on fire, I'm pretty damn happy about that.

    Cost to swap in a 700r4 or a 480le?

The TCI EZ TCU is 600, for ease of use I'd just go that route, 5-700 for a donor, that doesn't need to be built, then 600 for controller, puts you at around say, 1500 fluids and expendable stuff included. You can do the Diesel controller, or a 411 PCM as a controller for less money and more effort.

    Cost to swap in a 700r4 or a 480le?

The biggest advantage is the 700 can use stock driveshafts, a 4L80 usually won't be able to. Controller is fairly simple IMO.

    Motor to chassis ground

If you don't have power at the NSS, you need a jumper wire in the fuse panel.

    Motor to chassis ground

Work backwards. Do you have 12v at the starter? Do you have 12v at the junction block? Do you have 12v at the NSS?

What have you done to your square lately??

Welded some Walker Quiet Flows up, crappy band clamps won't lock down so I bought some good ones from Monkey Fab that will be here tomorrow. Drove it yesterday, left all my crap in the bed, it all flew out all over the road, spent an hour walking around finding it :D

It was as straightforward as it gets. Removed old, installed new, bled, that's it.

Use donor cluster in LS swap?

Elaborate on which part? The video pretty much speaks for itself. The dash you'll have to wire.

Use donor cluster in LS swap?

Not anymore, https://www.gmsquarebody.com/threads/free-100-no-license-required-ls-tuning-solution-for-gen-iii-engines.26493/ Also, you can use the donor dash if you want to as well.

Well, I do have the obvious LS swap. Otherwise, Avalanche rear seat GMT800 Tahoe Master Cylinder Taurus Fan That's it as far as I can think of, it's mostly stock... Ish...

    C10 power steering lines

Mine, the line anyway, doesn't have an o ring. I just went to AutoZone and confirmed it's the right line for a 79,but it would seem to be the wrong line for my box.

    C10 power steering lines

So how many types are there? My truck is a 79, I bought a new line for a 79, and it threaded into the box, but the center hardline portion is very loose, and it leaks like a sieve. The only conclusion I can come too is I must have the wrong line, but I thought the newer stuff was metric? So...

Post a pic of your first car or restoration!

It was sanded with 80 grit, painted with rattle can stove paint, had a 8.8 hacked into it, made the trans crossmember out of a fence post lol... Poorly mounted ratchet shifter that either couldn't get park or couldn't get low. 850 Holley, no choke, stock heads/cam/manifolds lol. It was bad...

    L59 swapping into 86 K5. Crossmember?

For a 4x4 yes, I would prioritize keeping the bellhousing in the same location as a Gen 1. That way i wouldn't have to make 2 new driveshafts. The universal 1" setbacks do that, but crash the oil pain into the crossmember, which is why ORD and PAC Fab and others offer a crossmember. You can...
