Can Anyone Help Me Identify My Vortec 6000 Engine?

That cover is a Lq9 cover, but they fit any Gen 3 truck engine from 99-06 They way to tell is the block is cast front and rear with either a 4.8/5.3 or a 6.0. Then scope the piston to see if it's a flat top or not. Yes = LQ9 No = LQ4. But they all do burnouts and run way better than the old...

    Marine 502 into 1984 GMC 2500 454

I don't know of any tall deck 502's. Everyone I've ever seen was 9.8" and used all standard Mark IV stuff. The caveats were they didn't have clutch ball provisions. Regardless, tall deck 8.1 and 8.8's fit fine anyway.

What have you done to your square lately??

I do a lot of engineering filaments, PPS, PA6, PA12. Not too many "prosumer" printers that will run them out of the box, it does very good at it with the AMS HT dryers. I'm even able to embed TPU, in the engineering filaments, this is TPU/PA6 CF

What have you done to your square lately??

You can just break files into pieces. I have 2 Bambu P1S printers and a Bambu H2D, but nothing fancy is required for this. For this, as a mock up, I just super glue it together, it's not a functional or structural piece. In real life time, it'll take about a week, probably 40 or so hours...

What have you done to your square lately??

This is actually for my 4runner, but I'm pretty close to having a mock up LS block printed.

What have you done to your square lately??

Not much, spent part of the weekend fixing the water in my barn to find I have next to no pressure and I screwed it up somehow. Did get the brake pedal assembly and master painted, my donor cab definitely sat in water for some time lol. Didn't get to get it installed because I had to go empty...

unSquare K5 Floor Repair DIAMOND PLATE fabricated supports

Idk, I don't see them move all that much really. Not considering how much adjustment there is in the panels and body mounts anyway. If it were me, on a K5, I'd probably take the top off, and lift from the bed. Get any bow out of the fender/door/cowl area, have that all line up and equal, then...

    Chuck’s engine build thread!

The internet. They're wholly internet creatures parroting what they've read, heard, been told. People take great joy in being condescending to strangers and pooping in their cornflakes on the internet for a like react throwing around words and phrases like "proper" and "done right" and "for...

    Fuel and spark no start

You're probably 180 out on the rotor So, I do this as simple as possible for myself. I bring the engine around to TDC, plus 10-15, whatever is clever, it's all close enough. I stab the distributor at #1, rotate oil pump drive as needed. Shoot something flammable down the carb with the...

    E85 conversions considering gas prices

I've run E85 in many things, for many years. You almost never win based on cost versus 87 pump gas. You'll give up 25-30% economy, even with cranked timing, and you'll save 18-25% on cost. On forced induction applications, can't beat it with a stick, 107 octane out of the pump for 30% less...

    Engine Build

If your starter works, I'd run it. If you need to change it, the 96-2000 Vortec starters are the ticket. If 100 bucks for a starter strains the budget, I'd probably not start on a full rebuild, and maybe keep it milder with a cam and intake.

Chevy 14 bolt - gov bomb locker???

I've never had a problem with 14 B Gov Locs. Other than the wheel speed needed to get them to click in. It's the half ton, 10 B units that explode with any kind of abuse /. overuse.

What have you done to your square lately??

Swapped hood hinges, can close the hood, no more tarp! Got most of a fuel system installed, TBI pump and sender, return regulator. Tomorrow will paint the inner fenders and core support, get the core support up on its mounts. Next weekend is vacation, so be awhile before real updates, but...
