Turbo 400 to 4l80e swap in a suburban

I know it's old but I wanted to add my two cents here... I had this happen to me in my K5 when I did a motor swap and driving home from the swap the bellhousing bolts weren't tight and started backing out and caused it to tweak enough to crack the flexplate just like that. YMMV

    Body Lift Question...

That's pretty cool. Makes me think go fast desert truck . After realizing you're talking about two wheel drive stuff I remember somebody talking about using 88 to 98 lift spindles at one point. I prefer 4x4 through and through but have seen many people leaving trails with broken front ends...

    Body Lift Question...

Saw that but saw no other reference of it and when somebody's talking about lifts and gear swaps I kind of didn't think we were talking two-wheel drive. If so my bad. OP- can we see this two-wheel drive with a 4-in lift please? I can't remember exactly but I think four-wheel drive front...

    Body Lift Question...

They have their place. Do it if you want. I like to put a 1-in body lift on my 4x4s just to make it easier to access areas around the transmission/transfer case and bell housing and whatnot, though I don't have one on my current Suburban. I've never used one for tire clearance. They are helpful...

    Lift decision

If I remember right tuff country had some of the lower spring rates if that's part of your decision. I have no experience with BDS but I've heard good things. I have tuff country on my square in the 6 in flavor

Best jacking methods and tools to remove wheel for offroad purposes?

I use a combination of a bottle jack and a high lift Jack. I carry around a thick piece of 1' x 1' plate to set the jack on to increase the size of the base or if the ground is soupy. Sometimes I'll put the bottle jack right below where the leaf springs land on the axle. It's kind of flat...

She's running like a champ now. Here's what I figured out After seeing how expensive this stupid exhaust pressure differential valve is and having no codes coming up I went to checking miscellaneous sensors. I confirmed my EGR valve is working and holding vacuum but pulled it anyway, cleaned...

@Ricko1966 that's definitely it. Any idea why its there instead of a EGR solenoid or is it just the same thing with a different name? Off to find out how to test it.

10068570 is Part number on the side. Is it just not coming up for the part guy because I'm calling it an EGR instead of the stupid exhaust pressure valve solenoid? Maybe it's just my language that was wrong I guess. Is it tested the same way as a regular EGR solenoid? Definitely testing $100...

That's the same one that the parts store guy pulls up with a two wire connector. Mine has this connector As you can see the solenoid has four prongs but my factory wiring has three prongs so one isn't used

I know this place is about Square bodies but my 90 is giving me some problems. I'm hoping that because it's TBI just like my Suburban the information crosses. 90 c2500, 5.7 w/AC. Runs rough after it warms up and the idle drops down. Exhaust smells rich. No codes.. I was doing some poking and...

Just realized I drove it home like this. Holy crap! Was the original owner. It's a 1990 and the maintenance record show his name from 1991. Paperwork shows a new engine installed in 2006 at 110,000 it has 190,000 now. Also found this which was pretty neat. Found these in a box in the bed...

Picked up another one. Makes 3 for me now. No pics yet. Barely took a look at it. Price was cheap. 88-91 based on interior and I'm pretty sure th400. C3500 with a canopy. Gonna do a quick once over and put it up for sale. No room in my life for something without a front drive axle haha. Oops...

Here's the blank in the bezel

    Found behind gauge cluster bezel

Nope nothing connected. Just an open tube. Yes the vent is not cut out in the bezel. I'm wondering if it's because it's a 91 and they were just using up some leftovers?
  18. Jawzjeep

    Found behind gauge cluster bezel

It did not. The screws went through the dash and the vent was attached with the screws on the backside of the metal.
  19. Jawzjeep

    Found behind gauge cluster bezel

Nope I don't have any dash vents just defrost and floor heat.

    Found behind gauge cluster bezel

I'm trying to fix some dash lights or track down a wiring problem to them and I took my gauge cluster bezel off and found this under a blank area bottom left corner. My rig doesn't have AC so it's a bit odd. Not much to talk about or really discuss but I wanted to show it.

What have you done to your square lately??

Broke out some medium cutting compound and buff the plastic turn signals for a couple of minutes.

What have you done to your square lately??

Beefed up my grounds with some huge welding cable and added an additional alternator to battery cable.

post your pics of your engine bay for decals/stickers placement for a 1991 GMC Suburban SLE V1500

Here's what I have. No AC so no help there. Let me know if there's something else that you need or a different angle or whatever

I'll check back on this when I get home. I've got a 91 suburban v1500 sle. I know the air filter one is gone or it was already gone.
