Well, it’s orange now. I never really liked the look you get when you go rob the performance aisle at O’Reillys so I think the orange flows better like the old intake.

Will do. I don’t know if the new ARP bolts will be long enough for that one so I’ll find one long enough. Degreased and pressure washed around the engine bay. And behind the engine. Couple coats of satin black down yonder and Chevy orange on the block. If you really want stuff to last, it needs...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

I’ll have to check. One thing at a time! Went ahead and removed the timing cover and oil pan. Don’t think the oil pan was leaking at all, blue rubber FEL PRO did its job. The entire paper gasket on the timing chain cover was soaked through. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but I still don’t...

cleaning parts today....all that oil thats been blowing around the bay. Went ahead and bough a new edelbrock cast aluminum timing cover, ARP bolts for that, the intake, the water neck, the water pump, the oil pan, oil pan spreaders, Fel pro timing gasket, edelbrock fitting for the air cleaner...

Next question, do I really want to use that and force all this crap down the carb, or is there a possible way to put it in the base of the carb that’s not vacuum. I need to look at this carburetor when I get home. Or, will they even be that much oil vapor once I get this lower vacuum PCV in...

Would it be permissible to use this knockout in the bottom of this Edelbrock open air cleaner? For my vent tube. Eventually, I would like to get a retro style, but this is what I have for now.

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Fun fact: When I took the axle shaft out to replace the seal the pumpkin cover had zero gasket or RTV on it....just metal to metal :bs: I'll have to upload the video I took of that job....the carrier has carnage in it, like the pinion made contact somehow and scarred it all the way around.

Whats the trick to checking it by rotating the wheels and driveshaft again? Been too long.

    Finally got a running 65 C10

I'm gonna get a heavier duty one for sure. Gonna suck to replace but at least I'll be able to paint the water pump and dampener like I didn't do before You know I was thinking, I drove a 350 in my squares for years and never worried about oil leaks on my nice driveway. Same with the 305 in the...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

I was going to put this thing all back together tonight, but I decided to do it right and order some more stuff from Summit. ARP stainless intake manifold bolts, same for the water neck. New water neck coming, two new stainless heater hose fittings Should I make a hardline fuel line from the...

Could it be coming from the top of this cheesy timing chain cover on high RPM? Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z. Or at least after I put this intake all back together and it still leaks lol

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Call me crazy, but I don’t think I have an oil leak from the front valley of the intake manifold. If it’s leaking, it would have to be from that left side that is wet. That’s the side. It seems to be coming down the timing chain cover, and going everywhere on the crossmember.

I guess Ill have to take a video of me speed shifting the column.....it literally doesnt matter how fast you can shift it, ITS TOO SLOW I dont know how else to say it. Literally, when you let off the clutch and press the gas, you've maybe got 15' and youre pushing the clutch in for second, and...

Well I wish I could have grown up driving trucks/cars with these transmissions in them but all were automatics, except my moms 1991 toyota corolla lol (which I learned to drive on), so I have zero experience with any of them. Yeah I mean I can shift the 3 on the tree as fast as anyone, I've...

    Finally got a running 65 C10

Lemme ask yall this.....if a man was to keep a manual transmission in his rig, it would have to meet two requirements. 1. It HAS to shift faster (or at least have a 1st and 2nd gear thats not useless) than the 3 speed thats in it....I dont know anything about manuals but I always hear "oh it...
