Chasing down a gremlin....lost tail lights and panel lights. fuse had burnt out last night so I replaced it. Lost them again today, no power at the fuse this time. Looks like green wire comes from headlight switch, to back of fuse panel for lights. if I could just figure out how to get the...- 1low4x4

I’ll change it here in a minute before I crank it up for the day. Fender came out good, I should’ve gone a little darker on the turquoise, but I could always redo it. Threw a couple of earlier model caps on the wheels that I had hanging on the wall.- 1low4x4

Trying to match the driver side fender to the rest of the truck, both front fenders were replaced, I would do the passenger side, but I ruined it the other day getting it on the trailer. I’ll have to find another passenger side fender. Sanded it down, half ass, sprayed it with brown primer, then...- 1low4x4

Copper line went straight into the back of the three gauge pod under the dash, I left the excess roll under the dash instead of in the engine bay like it was before. Yo, why is there Ford parts on my Chevy truck lol- 1low4x4

Got the gauges in…..that copper line was kind of a pain in the ass. Volts works now, gonna crank the truck tomorrow to check for oil leaks/coolant reading Need to replace bulbs in the cluster Moved my choke to the right of the cluster, below the heater knob. Picked up a new gauge set today, with the copper line. It has the plastic on it now, which I don’t like, and none of the lights work, nor does the voltmeter so gonna fix that. Getting a spray can mixed up tomorrow to match the green, so I can try to match the drivers fender. Paint it brown...- 1low4x4

I don’t think I ever knew that method, when I installed fuel pumps. I seem to remember, maybe putting grease on the rod to hold it? Or maybe that was something completely different I don’t really remember. My memory sucks. I will back out the longer bolt and put a shorter one in. I don’t think...- 1low4x4

Do these 2 holes go into oil galleys or whatever you call it? Because for weeks that area has been wet with oil, dripping down onto the crossmember. I cleaned it off and it comes back. So the other day, I put some RTV around some bolts and ran them in. And it stopped.- 1low4x4

I really don’t see an exact science on setting these. Even if you do the two spin method or whatever you called it, it’s still subjective to how your finger feels rolling the push rod. It really just seems like no matter what method you use. You’re just kind of guessing, and you might get it...- 1low4x4

Idk. When I backed them off last time till they clattered I then snugged them up slightly enough for it to stop making noise. I felt that that was pretty close to zero lash. When I did the half turn earlier, some of the rockers were able to jiggle around loosely, not sure if that’s just because...- 1low4x4

Brought total timing down to 35 from 40 and its not doing it anymore. The clattering or pinging. So thats good. Gonna let it cool down and then take the valve covers off and give all the rockers another half turn, I think im close to zero lash so that should help out a bit- 1low4x4

What does valve float sound like? It’s probably not valve float but I’m having loud clattering at high RPMs. It almost sounds like a metal fuel line or something is beating against the side of the block or frame, but it could be the engine. Any ideas? I’m wondering if I should back off the...- 1low4x4
