    GMC-IH

Ah, I see it. No bearing caps!! That won’t work well at all!

    Fuel Gauge

I don’t think the sending unit is the ground, there should be a ground wire that runs from the sending unit to the frame. The tank just sitting in the saddles would be a terrible body ground. It actually sites on rubber or tar paper in there from the factory to prevent squeaks. If it is...

    Where do these wires go?

The e IOC Kick (Idle on Command) is meant to increase rpms to compensate for the compressor load when you turn it on.

    Where do these wires go?

It will have 12 V key power only when the AC compressor is turned on.

    Summit bolt on exhaust system?

Looks a lot like this system I got from Jegs I will say the exhaust pipe (from the header to the Muffler) were worthless I don’t know how they would ever have fit. I threw them away and just bought 48” mandrel formed pipe and welded everything in. The rest of the kit was good. Sound is it...

1980 Scottsdale C30 3 fuel doors but just 1 tank? adding a tank or 2 and in tank fuel pumps

If you wire this correctly, you need two switches and 3 relays. It’s not difficult, there is already trigger wires going to each pollack valve to switch on the correct pump when you switch the valve between tanks.

1980 Scottsdale C30 3 fuel doors but just 1 tank? adding a tank or 2 and in tank fuel pumps

Agreed, but not prohibitively expensive. This one is $390 on summit. My brothers 1989 K5 is running this set up now. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aei-13220 This would be your biggest expense with this plan. You would have to buy everything eventually for an EFI conversion (like pumps...

1980 Scottsdale C30 3 fuel doors but just 1 tank? adding a tank or 2 and in tank fuel pumps

Interesting question. Technically you could get 90% of it done right now. Obviously the fabrication to hang the third tank can get done now. But also you could install electric in-tank fuel pumps on all three tanks, plumbing the pollack valves, wire all three tanks pumps to switches with 1987...

    Where do these wires go?

I don’t know what you are working on, so we can’t get you a wiring diagram. The second green wire is probably the IOC kick that goes to the carburetor idle solenoid. The second looks like an oil sending unit plug. Should attach to to the sensor behind the manifold by the fire wall. Third pic...

    Vacuum lines for hvac system

Yes, I believe so. I think the grommet that Matt circled above is for the wiring harness to the spark control computer from distributor, but just to the left is where the HVAC goes through the firewall.

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

12-308 are in tank pumps so no return line. He should be good. I tried the inline pump before I went to the in tank. You have to put it after the pollack valve on the frame. The good news is that there is plenty of room. The bad news is I couldn’t get it to work very well. The inline pumps...

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

Yep, I think you are correct. I just meant there wasn’t a different pollack valve for just for the 87’ models. It was the same as the identical years. The round eyes had that valve I believe but I never owned a dual tank pre-1980, just single tanks

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

Those might be the ones I bought. The ones I got were not baffled. I believed Holley when they said they didn’t need to be to baffled to work with the 12-308. Don’t fall for it like I did. Also, if your is a short bed, the 20 gallon tanks won’t fit

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

New tanks are like $100 and after spending $1,000 on two new pumps, it is cheap insurance. I don’t have any info on poly tanks. I bought two off of Jegs for $90 each.

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

That looks like the right valve. Yes, you only need the 3 port. The 6 port is for feed, and return on a mechanical system. You can use the 6 port, you just have to plug 3 of them because you don’t need a return. You can tie the vents from both tanks together with T-barbed fitting, they don’t...

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

GM never used two different Pollack valves. The pollack valves on the 87’ and the pre-87’ are the same and can handle constant power when switch or momentary power. I used this as a trigger wire for the relay to activate the pump in the correct side. I am not sure if the pre 80’ can handle...

How are the factory dual saddle fuel tanks supposed to be routed?

It sounds to me that the PO didn’t know how to do any wiring and he couldn’t figure out how to switch between two different in tank fuel pumps so he just wired one and kept transferring fuel like an idiot. There are full dual tank conversion kits that you can buy to switch it back to standard...

In-line fuel pump or in tank for Holley Sniper system

I went round and round with the same issue. I tried the cheaper option (in line pump) and it didn’t work for me. This electric fuel pumps push fuel, they don’t pull it so you are stuck with how fast it can syphon to the pump. You might be successful if you punch a hole in the bottom of the tank...

    Digital dashes

I used a New Vintage. It actually Looks great, but I had to have the tach replaced 4 times before it finally work correctly. It would burn out everytime after 3-4 hours of use. Yes, that means pulling the entire dash apart 4 times. Speedometer also slaves the oil pressure gauge and when the oil...

Anyone used the old ash tray for something (else) that's interesting?

Had to put the sniper 2 controller somewhere! It’s nice to flip it up and have it back to a stock look. WOW factor when I pull it down to show someone who wasn’t expecting an LCD screen full of engine telemetry in a 40 year old truck.
