    It would be easier to unbolt the mount, slip them in and do it the way it was intended. You don't have to take the engine out. Those short one look similar to the braces I had on my Th400 inspection plate cover? It was cast aluminum, not stamped steel.

    How hard is it to switch the wiring up to work with the newer 6-port? Can't be that complicated. I'm running dual tanks with in-tank pumps controlled by EFI and throwing together a schematic was pretty easy.

    The carrier bearing doesn't carry any load except a small amount of axial load. I'm more interested in how your getting 700 hp out of a 350 TBI?

    I'm not sure what the "wiring manual" looks like. It does show every circuit for all available options gas or diesel. I find it much easier to decipher on big 14 x 20 inch paper rather than on a screen.

    Assuming your gauge is accurate, I'd say yes. Sounds like its hanging in the open position. It should open and close within 10 degrees of it's rating. I had this happen last winter with similar symptoms and my EFI wouldn't go into closed loop. Turned out the rubber gasket on the radiator cap...

    If its running less than 195 with a 195 stat, the stat is bad, the sending unit is bad or your gauge is defective.

    An LS swap won't fix your brake or ambient temperature dilemma but it will make you care about them a whole lot less.
