When should I change the stock front leafs?

They are all great. I just want to be able to put this one back to stock and into storage eventually.

When should I change the stock front leafs?

So generally to center it up ‘more’, moving the axle forward 1-1.5” is prudent. Got it. It wont see nothing more than a mall parking lot.

When should I change the stock front leafs?

Sorry but its going brodozer for now. I just want to put it back stock in a couple years and put it in back in storage. Thats the whole thing about it I dont want to mess with the originality. So setting the axle forward will help with tire clearance?

When should I change the stock front leafs?

Ok so I looked into this. This plus the ORD HD shackles. I can put it back stock if/when it goes back into storage. What does moving the axle forward do? So here is my plan, 31x12.50x22, concourse restore the interior with discreet sound system, and clean the undercarriage. Now I just need...

If it looks stockish like that. I do plan to get some 22x12 -40 wheels and 31.6 x 12 tires. I can throw some stocks/31s on if I want too.

When should I change the stock front leafs?

On my 87 V10 (K10). They are frowning a little bit. Truck is ultra original and no bolts have been broken on the bottom side. I think if I get into the suspension I will be tempted to put a little lift on it as the 235 tires are aged out too. I will try to get spring pics this morning. But...

Vortec engine out of a surburban

I agree on the fuel injection swap if the donor vehicle is available. I have an 87 and its fuel injected, same engine and starts up every time. Its no power maker, its a 350 and I wont be doing any exhaust or power adders. Its not very advanced but its reliable. The valve seals on those...

Gear oil weight options 87 V10? 10 Bolt? Minor whine

Yeah I am wondering which fluid to change first. I have a couple quarts of lucas stop slip I could use in the tcase as that is pretty easy to change out. If that doesn't work I’ll try to run a good 85-140 in the rear. Its a warm climate here so should be ok.

Gear oil weight options 87 V10? 10 Bolt? Minor whine

I plan to first put thicker oil in it and try Lucas in the tcase. Its not a daily so I am not to worried.

Gear oil weight options 87 V10? 10 Bolt? Minor whine

Hey either my transfercase or rear end has a minor whine to it under acceleration at moderate highway speeds. It doesnt have the G80 option so I assume 80-90 gear oil is what its called for. Can I run a heavier weight. I am in a warm climate, houston. Truck came from a colder climate prior...

    Door speaker cover / pod

If I wanted to hide it I would do a center speaker in the factory spot, tweets in the vents maybe?, one component behind perforated carpet at the bottom of the door, and 6x9s behind the seat.

LMC or whoever, what parts do I need for my 87 trim after repaint?

Has anyone seen a repop or NOS ‘fuel injection’ badge on the tailgate? If not I could probably clean it up.

LMC or whoever, what parts do I need for my 87 trim after repaint?

Bumpers, 3m rubber molding around truck, grill, headlight doors, cab trim below back window and tailgate panel, door mirrors, drip edge above door, wheelwell trim, ralley wheel center caps and lugs/hardware, turn signals, tail lights, etc. What else am I missing? Most importantly where should...

$150 Wham-Bam, Hack N Pack Shop Style Paint Job.

You can turn a 15 footer into a 10 footer by never washing it. And into a 5 footer if you try to get it dirty. Thats my only technical suggestions. Someone did what I believe is a rustoleum paint job on my 79 Jimmy and its a great 5 footer. So it’s possible.

    truck

I dont know it looks like you could replace the passenger fender/misc, tailgate, paint the bottom of the drivers door, and replace the trim and bumpers. Buff it out and polish the wheels. Maybe leave the new parts primed who cares its a $450 truck. Then redo the interior. Then drop an...

79 GMC grill, the chrome bar one.

So long story. I bought that one for my 77. I’m buying a center GMC piece and using your chrome side pieces to restore the original grill that has some damage. Otherwise it will get thrown in a box and forgotten. Ie trash. Would like to save as much stuff as possible. If I need a backup I...

    this truck?

I hate to disclose a secret but you can get really good deals on last title cars. It takes like $200-300 to get someone to do a bond and actually go do the filings etc. Pretty easy to get a title. Just need to check it real well to make sure it has no recent lien and isnt stolen.
