GM compass install
I installed mine above the mirror and used the screw of the trim that is there. No drilling and it's not in the way of anything. I have no close up pic but you can see how it looks. -

What is the advantage of Hydro boost brakes over hydraulic?
Smaller package. Way more stopping power. Hydroboost: up to 2700psi Vacuum booster: up to 1400psi I never had a power steering pump fail from one second to another. Always started long time before failure with making noises, leaks, puke fluids. -

Welcome from Austria. Measure axle overall lenght, spring perch position and angle, shock mounts. Then you will see what is different. Spring perches and shock mounts can be cut off and new ones welded on, no big deal.- ali_c20

What new tools have you got lately?
Bought a quality Knipex wire stripper. Paid 20$ more for Made in Germany, I prefer to pay more for stuff not made in China/Asia/India. All units in metric/imperial mm2/AWG. -
fuel tank selector valve leaking
Check all hoses if they have a tiny hole or are brittle. The fuel could flow from the leak down and and drip from the valve. If the fuel is coming out of the valve there is an internal leak or something like dirt is preventing the valve to fully close. Or the plastic parts of the valve could be...- ali_c20

Fender antenna debacle
The retractable antenna requires a lot of space, it wont fit in behind the fender. Power antennas are great, turn the key and it starts to extend.- ali_c20

Cluster housing for 74 c10

1974 steering column change out!
You can reuse the clamp and other mounting parts from the old column or get a new universal one. For the shaft measure the diameter and count the splines on the steering box for the lower end, at the column you need the 1" DD. The couplers and shafts sold separately too. It's sometimes cheaper...- ali_c20

New Speedometer Issues
The old speedometer from your cluster is a 81 up with the clip attached to the speedo with a screw on the bottom side of the cable input. The clips for pre 81 speedos are attached to the cluster backing plate with a screw on the top of the cable input. That's the reason why the 79-80 speedo does...- ali_c20

Speedo retainer clip for 79-83-ish Gauge and housing
You have 81 - 87 cluster backing plate. There are 2 different versions and also for tach and none tach. The retainer clip on the 81 - 87 speedos is attached to the speedo and not the backing plate. Pre 81 with tach: 81 up without tach: 81 up speedo:- ali_c20

Where to find plastic Tailgate cap?
There are extrem durable powdercoatings available, stronger than bedliner. They get scratches but don't chip. When you blast the steel cap before coating it's nearly indistructable except you set your truck on fire. -

I 've never seen black plastic tailgate caps, the vinyl protector is the only one in black. The other plastic ones are for newer trucks. You could get a stainless steel one and have it powder coated. -

Electronic speedometer?
1990 - 91 Blazer/Suburbans had electronic speedos. For digital gauge clusters there are quite some manufacturers. Glow Shift does not have the best reputation.- ali_c20
