how to wire an electric auxiliary fan to come on with vehicle ac

so you want the fan to come on when you choose ac, but you want the fan to run while its cycling, but you dont want to be tied to temperature controls unrelated to ac? Interesting, but id assume the ac controls trigger the compressor with the clutch by grounding, presumably, and the cycling...

    Rear lighting

where did you put all your grounds, the bed? do you have the body and frame to the battery sufficiently grounded? The frame to battery ground is a very weak ground and the chassis to the battery can be too

    4L60E Information Thread (Includes 4L65/70/75)

Hey nick, so someone is trying to tell me the 4l60e didnt get Adaptive shifts till it got an ISS which I dont think is correct, I rememebr seeing adaptives on my tech 2 connected to a ALDL on a 95 Vandura and service data from the late 90s+ saying adaptive shifts. This smells like crap to me...

Interior Hood Release Pics, please send me one.

heres that handle from a better pic, it looks like the difference between yours and the one here is the ol park brake release handle having changed design possibly The blue truck is a 78 with AC , the handle is just pulled out from where it would be if there was a core support and hood latch...

    Th350 behind 4.8ls

This is the bottom of a TH350 ,, the modulator visible is the original modulator. if the modulator looks like that, you should get a new one simply because of age in my opinion. the hose to it needs to be short from a metal hardline that has a hose on the end by the intake manifold, that...

Backfiring through carb/won’t idle/runs well at higher rpm (new GM crate SP350 w/new Holley 4150). Pls help!

I cant tell for certain but your hose to the PCV still looks like its Fuel line, the EPA compliant with green text you had used before. While this isnt something that will affect your operation like your current woes, its a long term thing that needs correction, you need something that has...

    1980 Starter wires?

The non labeled wire in the photo is a black ,it goes to ground , which is a splice into another ground wire. i dont recall this running directly to battery , this is for a 83 tho, The PPL and RED (fusible link on red) are the only other ones. not sure this is helpful. This is for 1980 but...

    Dual tank solenoid valve

Even BTSI (brake to shift interlock) came around 1991 My oldsmobile 88 (1990) would let me shift without pressing the brake, wasnt a safety issue for me but i did like the the ability to just slip into reverse without hitting brake, but it makes sense to restrict the shift out of park with a...

    Th350 behind 4.8ls

depends on the year 4l60e If youre using an LS 4l60e there are like 3 distinct generations There is the early, the input shaft sensor and changed solenoids i think in the early 2000s Then there is late 2000s to 2013 or whenever for the 4.3 trucks, the trans went internal mode switch and...

    "Oldsmobile Diesel" Conversion to gas

oh, well im pretty sure the geometry of where the brackets attach to the head face are different, but i could be wrong it seems the consensus tho

    "Oldsmobile Diesel" Conversion to gas

so its smaller diameter meaning the brackets would just need to be possibly increased in size with a drill to fit the larger ones? Both 1979 and 1980 (respectively) have a nice layout for the accessories and are matched since they are OEM (alignment and everything) so would be nice to...

    "Oldsmobile Diesel" Conversion to gas

Are you sure, a lot of the online things suggest the bolts in the heads dont allow accessory brackets to change? If thats true then there is value in at least harvesting the 1979 and 1980 (different from each other) brackets for another oldsmobile engine with AC

    Th350 behind 4.8ls

my guess is some guys just have the engine or have an easy source and dont have the time/knowledge to modify the column to use a cable instead of linkage and have enough positions so its accurate (assuming they have a th350 or th400 stock column) , or they just dont feel comfortable making that leap

    Th350 behind 4.8ls

the modulator, assuming problems ,would probably plummet the vacuum in the engines intake at least some, probably disrupting the fueling? or maybe not enough to affect it much?

    "Oldsmobile Diesel" Conversion to gas

I wish the short deck oldsmobile (260...) (just saying short deck as figure of speech) shared accessories with the regular or tall deck.. I have 2 boat anchors that are worthless essentially except if you wanted a block to machine up to 307, 350, etc but its not like olds owners are crying for...

Is that by the AC compressor? Im not sure what that is, but it looks like a muffler for an AC compressor

    Dual tank solenoid valve

If your sending units release from the tank, you can save your tanks (assuming no leaks) some vinegar to clean them out if they are rusty My original tank here, did not cooperate when i was trying to remove the sender, so the whole ring that retains it came out

What kind of plug can I use?

what the hell are you smoking? I Dont think that at all, infact, if you remember that thread from a while back I was one of the people who were pro-fluid brake controller I think they are cool and when I get my square better fixed, im hoping the one in my cab is still functional, id love to...
