Big oil filter downsides? such as WIX 51794 or ACDelco PF932
If you aim is to extend the life of the engine, you want to instal a bypass type oil filter. The regular spin on filter is a "full flow" type, ie all the oil flows directly through the filter on the oil pump circuit. Fuel tank/pump replacement
FYI - recently worked on a project for "green" energy production. Turns out that "they" are planning on producing methanol from wood chip ( corrosive and highly toxic ). Site is on the bank of a major river system, so when there is a spill it WILL kill everything around it, create 3 eyed salmon...- Fat 454

Engine preoiler dirt cheap homemade.
This is interesting, cos when we rebuilt an LS earlier this year - realised you cannot "spin up" the oil pressure with an old distributor, cos there isn't one ( duh ). ended up filling the pump, and lubing everything with engine assembly grease before startup. SAGINAW P type Power Steering Pump REBUILD - Tech Questions
Update on this for anyone interested - rebuilt the pump with a kit from Rock Auto. Interestingly the "expensive" kit and the "cheap" kit ( we got both to compare ) - were exactly the same, so no advantage in spending the extra cash. Driving full time 4wd with front drive shaft removed
A part time transfer case ( NP205 etc. ) operates the same way as the converted MM kit, ie the front drive can be positively engaged / disengaged. The "full time" np203 set up was introduced as a "modern convenience" at the time, claiming to be less "rustic" as your better half did not need to...- Fat 454

There is an excellent ( old ) article by @Grim reaper on the .ck5 board, that describes the transfer case mechanism, conversion parts and real world driveability that you should read. @telecat89 that set up is just the clutches, and is not the full conversion. If you look up the Mile Marker or Doug Nash conversion, it was a full shaft and bearing replacement. Apart from finding a used case that someone has converted in the past I have not found anyone selling the "full"...- Fat 454

My understanding is that you should NOT run an NP203 ( or other "continuous transfer case ) in LOC, as it will eventually grenade the case. I'm not sure on the NP205 gear type cases.
