Who's going to see the roof? I'd go with either hood only or maybe hood and gate. Don't the Rams have stripes on the gate sometimes? I'm not sure if I like that look. But hey, personal preference and your truck. Do whatever you like best.- Blue Ox

How slow is your daily driver?
Hours. I had an '80. My first car, and my last Volvo. Even with the 5 speed I think it was 18 seconds 0-60. But it got 35 MPG. I agree, it has all the hallmarks of clutch not disengaging. That lack of pressure until the pedal is almost on the floor says the same thing. I wonder if starting it in gear would prove anything other than, it can move on its own. :confused:- Blue Ox

Wait, it's IN neutral? Put it in high range. Leaving the case in neutral will just let everything spin up. I made that mistake once with my truck. The transmission shop that put the welded drain plugs in mine put them in the vertical sides (back) of the pans. I had originally put drain kits in the pan bottoms, but not having them sticking down where they can be ripped off on something in the road or a rock or whatever seemed like a better... -

Brake Booster or Master Cylinder ISSUE?
Bad booster will make it feel like you're trying to crush a garbage can with your foot. If the pedal sinks easily it's a hydraulic problem. I'd start by bleeding more. If you just did work and now have a problem I'd be looking at the work first. What about the slack adjustment? -

Weld the piece you cut off to the other side. Basically shift the factory pad over. Maybe? I do agree that some kind of pad is necessary. Wet, bare metal is as slippery as ice.- Blue Ox

The TDI came with a locking gas cap, but no key. I kept the big Channelocks in the car for almost a year before I finally got a new gas cap. -

We should start a club. I have the same problem with the Corvette. FWIW, brake pedal arms are not ordinary mild steel. I'm not sure if they're hardened or just high strength steel, but I'd be wary of welding, heating and bending. When you speak of moving the pedal down, are you saying...- Blue Ox

0190 may be the tail end of the part number. They don't always have a letter in the middle, but you're still a few digits short. It's possible the first part of the number was printed on the tag and the geniuses blasted it off. 23905PY is definitely the serial number. If you can't see the rest...- Blue Ox

That's not the part number, it's the calibration code. That tells me max fuel delivery, full load RPM, governor spring position and max RPM setting but it doesn't tell me what pump it is. The part number should be at the top of the tag and will have a pattern like 3323F270.- Blue Ox

I'm @$$uming it's a Delphi/Lucas injection pump. Right now, Delphi has a national backorder on transfer pump blades, so either different part numbers are being substituted, or aftermarket parts are being used. Crack the injector lines one at a time and see if it's an actual miss. There are symptoms called irregular exhaust beat that just sound like a miss, but aren't an actual misfire.
