    K20 pulling 19k lbs...

I understand it's all to do with the radiation, and not the strength. Use in medical equipment and anything else that involves measuring or dealing with radiation get corrupted if the material itself is radioactive. I agree though, it is quite fascinating that a trace of radioactivity from...

It still never hurts to gain as much knowledge about your truck and it's operation as possible. Happy reading.

Well, THAT was an interesting read. To the OP, please understand that we're trying to help, and that none of us was born knowing this stuff. We all had to learn it. You can learn it too That being said, you have a lot of learning to do. For me, I've always enjoyed adding to my...

Dude, this is genius. I'm going to explore a way to adapt this to the hood lock on my Corvette. That big clamshell hood could kill you on a windy day. GM made several revisions to the hood support, and ended up with something similar, but not retrofittable.

What have you done to your square lately??

Most of the ones I've seen have the primers knocked out and a string run through there. Although, having the bases at the bottom may be effective too. Frankly, 9mm is going to be a pretty quiet wind chime.

Death wobble is usually from worn components such as tie rods and ball joints. Spring bushings aren't likely to fix it.

Ah. I thought the two responses were a little crossed up. Should have dig deeper.

Well, it is stock, but it's not no-frills. I'm sure it's Silverado trim, or whatever they called it on a GMT400. The mirrors are because he uses it primarily to tow a trailer. I kind of figure if you're operating a dually it's for towing, I don't know that you'd want all that extra width in the...

Perhaps I should have phrased it differently. What do you think a fair market value would be?

Okay. But how much would you be willing to pay for it?

    How about a NEW squarebody?

No. Whatever you do, don't post things of interest to a bunch of car/truck guys that just love to see how "A Car Is Born." ;)

    Diesel recommendations

If you want it to feel like it did when it was new put a Kubota in it. A 6.2/6.5 is an easier swap, but that transmission issue that Strick mentioned, and it's just not a powerhouse. so if you're content to have a diesel that drives okay and sounds good. That would be the recommended path...

Okay I have a question. My technician is looking to part with his (yes, I know it's not a squarebody) '93 Crew Cab Dually. The truck is mostly immaculate except the clear coat is starting to come off the tops of the bed rails, and the wheel flares. There is one small dent in the top edge of the...

They're eliminating AM because electric vehicles will generate so much interference that it will be unusable.

Yes, you can RTV it. Make sure everything is super clean.

What have you done to your square lately??

If you live in a warm climate it's probably okay. It will block off the manifold heat crossover so fuel has a harder time vaporizing when the engine is cold. High performance engines will have them blocked off to keep the intake air charge cooler.

    6.2 years to avoid?

They only offered the Olds diesel in the lightest weight of the 10 series trucks between 1979 and 1980. It may have been available in 1981, but definitely not in anything except a pickup. Once the 6.2L was introduced in 1982 they did not offer the 5.7L Olds in any truck. You've crossed up the...

    6.2 years to avoid?

It's been a long time, but didn't Banks use the stock manifold on the driver's side? Or maybe the pass side manifold turned backwards? I never had any love for that guy. It was a cr@p kit that was riddled with engineering flaws. But hey, stick a turbo on anything and you can make it go. That...
