What have you done to your square lately??

2 things- #1 which you already learned- Don't spill it. I use a very large drain pan. #2- I learned in a Hazwaste Class "The solution to pollution is dilution". Water the heck out of it until you think it is gone and then add some more. Remember it only takes about a half of cup of...

    New guy... LED issues

If the front only blinks once also, the LEDs are probably not drawing enough power to heat up the blinker relay enough to let it blink more. You will need a resistor to give the blinker relay enough to heat it up and continue blinking. The system thinks you have a turn signal out, and it will...

How much paint do I need?

If you are going to rattle can it, use good quality paint and most importantly make sure all the paint cans have the same lot number. Different lot numbers can be a slightly different shade of color.

Your favorite old car/truck that you regret selling!

My first pick up- 1972 Ford F-100. 302 with 3 on the tree. Bought it from my stepdad in 1976. Wish I still had it. Picture of it after he bought it new, and one of it in 1978 with mom and me. Already starting to rust out from saltwater in Sitka. Parked on oceanside of trailer, boat launching...

Your transmission and gears don't care what size your rims are, it is the diameter of the tires you have. If you change to smaller tires your rpm will change, however with the gear ratio you have it will be ok. You will have to change the speedometer gears in the transmission to keep it...

    Defroster without AC

Probably, just want the moist air to get out. Door window is higher than vent window and may let more warm air out.

    Defroster without AC

Open a door window an inch or so to let the moist warm air out of the cab, helps speed up the defrost time. Did it for years in vehicles with no a/c.

    Issue after crossover steering installation

GM made power steering pump pulleys in diameters - 5.0 inches, 5.75 inches, 6.5 inches, and 6.625 inches. Maybe a smaller size pulley would spin the pump faster at idle and put out more pressure.

What new tools have you got lately?

I built a Truck Storage Unit (TSU) to keep my C20 out of the weather and it has a wood floor that is not painted yet. Picked it up a couple drain pans for the leaks so I can paint the floor without it being oily. Got them from Lowe's.

1 inch bolts on a SB Chevy?

Worked as a mechanic for over 40 years. Only time ever needed a 1" drive set was for heavy equipment and 5 ton thru tractor trailers. I'm good with a 3/4 drive set with a 3/4 to 1" adapter. I would rather buy a quality 3/4 impact first and 1" drive socket size I needed than a complete 1" set.

    Rear seal leak

They do sell a small flashlight that is UV. Braun is the brand and it takes 3 AAA batteries. Should be able to buy dye from an auto parts store. If I remember the flashlight was around $10.00.

    Trouble brakes

Does the right side brake release when your brakes are released? If so check to see if the left caliper piston is stuck. Sometimes it pulls in the direction of the brake that applies because the other side is not working.

United By Trucks podcast- garage accident topic

For me always jack stands or ramps. A tip on jack stands for those of you on larger or really heavy loads- check the load rating paperwork. Most of the stands are rated per set i.e. 4 ton set equals 2 ton per stand. You can buy stands rated per stand, however they are more expensive. Federal...

    Taking a Vote or opinions.

I like stock, however grill only looks awesome. Black out looks overbearing and doesn't flow with the chrome bumper.

I got tired of hammering my fingers nailing roofing on a Truck Storage Unit (TSU) I am building to store my C20 out of the weather in Alaska.
