    Hot, hot won't start..

To protect my mini starter from the headers, I built an aluminum heat shield and used a thermal blanket as well. The interesting thing about these little starters, is that you can disconnect the mating surface on the starter and rotate the assembly (or at least mine can) . So basically you...

Spare tire mounted under the front bumper?

You are correct. Currently I'm using a modified heavy duty Thule bicycle carrier, and yep - it flips down. It actually has a shock absorber on it, so the tire swings down at a controlled rate. And you are correct about a secondary attachment point. I use a quick release and a turnbuckle on a...

    K5 frame crack

My K5: Has 37" tires installed and I beat the hell out of this rig - so I checked my K5 frame to see if there were any cracks around the steering box. Nope. Not one. Apparently someone at the factory had the foresight to put a bunch of extra welds all over the frame around the steering box...

    Dump the clutch and bog?

Cool! I have used them in fuel tank racing applications, but I didn't know that they made them for carbs.

    Hot, hot won't start..

Tapping the starter with a hammer is a quick fix for worn out or stuck brushes. Not starting when hot may be a different issue with the starter. Not sure a hammer will help with this, cut it couldn't hurt. Either way, I would install the mini high torque gear reduction starter and heat...

    Dump the clutch and bog?

I think before I threw them away, I would give them to someone I don't like.

    Dump the clutch and bog?

I have several different types of fuel filters on the shelf, including the one you sent a link to. I only used the glass one because it was handy and I have a bunch of them. As for being a fire hazard, you might be right. I have it positioned in a way that it cant break by getting bounced...

Anyone ever seen a sun roof in a Square body

The picture is just one of many possible different types and configurations. You could put either a stand alone 9V water alarm in your rig, or one of the ones in the picture, with the receiver plugged in at home - so that you get text alerts if rain enters the cab. No, texts would not work...

Wiper park position changed on it's own?

Before replacing the wiper motor, I would try forcing the wiper arms back into place. Don't go crazy with it or anything, but see if some firm pressure would "pop" it back into the proper position. It might damage the wiper motor gears, but if you are replacing it anyway, you might as well try...

Wiper park position changed on it's own?

My guess is that they somehow damaged it by obstructing the wiper blade movement while the wiper motor was turned on.

    Dump the clutch and bog?

Its a pretty standard fuel setup. 1406 with an auto choke, mechanical secondaries. New fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and an inline glass fuel filter. The only thing unusual would be the a 2" Tall Ported Phenolic Carburetor Spacer. Aside from a float that is adjusted too low, what could...

    Dump the clutch and bog?

Seems like a throttle body or propane conversion would solve it.

    Anybody try AT-205 for leaks?

I have used AT-205 for years. Its great stuff. It does not cause rubber to swell, the way other stop leak additives do. You can easily test this if you want. Just take 2 brand new seals and soak one seal and not the other. No swelling will occur. I have found that it has a very high success...

    Hot, hot won't start..

You probably need a starter, but more testing would be required to be sure. I had a starting issue once. I Installed a 1,150 CCA battery, but that did not solve the problem. (I had an extra one laying around) This did solve the problem:

    Dump the clutch and bog?

So when I am at stop sign and I dump the clutch, peddle to the metal - It takes off like a bat out of hell! Frame twisting, screeching, WTF are you driving like that for, kinda thing. Zoom Zoom. But I have a reoccurring problem, if I drop the clutch and pin it to win it from a dead stop onto...

Unkown fitting on rear brake line

A leak that causes the peddle to drop will barf out about about 1/2 a shot glass of fluid with every pump, so it won't take that many pumps before your are either out of brake fluid, or have some driveway art to slip on. The only way the peddle can drop without an external leak, is if the master...

Unkown fitting on rear brake line

Well, if it repeatedly bleeds down - then there is a loss of pressure. Either through the master cylinder piston seals, or an external leak of some sort. It should hold firm indefinitely.

Unkown fitting on rear brake line

That could be. Might just be a funky master cylinder. Try starting the engine and then pumping the brakes several times, and then stand on the peddle. After 30 seconds, does it bleed down at all? Do you lose any peddle?

Unkown fitting on rear brake line

You could try soaking all that stuff in water or WD40 to see if the moving parts free up and start working properly. Something might be binding.

FOR SALE - Gold Upper and Lower Side Mouldings for 1977 GMC Jimmy or Chevy K5 by Mar-K

I have been approached by multiple scammers on this, and other sites as well. They are out there. Cant say for sure on this guy, but he does seem at least somewhat suspicious.

Where can I get this bearing for my Automatic locking hub?

Search for a large lumber mill in your area. They usually have a dedicated bearing company next door that does nothing but supply bearings to that factory. They will sell to the general public, but are mainly there just to fill the factory or mill's needs. They have (or can) get any bearing...

    flex plate over torque

Not ideal, but not bad. Bolt it up. Should be fine. I would use some sort of medium strength lock-tite / threadlocker / etc.

    Bumper fangs/thingie

"Bumperette" aka Bumper guard. Looks like they go for about $100 to $300 on eBay. I like your "Bumper fangs" name, that's a way better name than "Bumperette"
