dies at low idle speeds, when put into gear and when stopped.

A lot of things missing here from the post friend. What's the engine rpm when coming up to a stop or idle? Auto or manual trans, any other "odd" things happening while she's running like sputtering, chugging, misfiring?

Latest Lost Cause Project: 1979 Z28

They can be a challenge for sure. Bought mine in my freshman year in school. Guy I bought it from originally purchased it in Van Nuys CA and was relocated to AZ for about 10 yrs, then got relocated to Indiana for about a year and was being relocated again and refused to drag it across country...

Latest Lost Cause Project: 1979 Z28

That looks like a nice fun little project. Sucks about the head gasket though man. My first Camaro was a 1980 that sent me down a rabbit hole with those things lol. I had the same 79 cowl induction hood that was functional. Paid $125 for it back in 91 iirc. Was my high school sweetheart for many...

    Rough country lift

I've only ever purchased and installed one 4" lift kit for any of my 4wd K10/K5 trucks. Every time I wanted a lift I've bought 3/4 ton springs from a donor truck out of a junkyard and tossed them into my 1/2 tons. With the heavier springs on the 1/2 ton frame I was easily able to get 35's...

    '82 K10 Fuel Gauge Pegged

Ohm out the resistor on the old gauge and the new gauge. Usually a faulty ground is the culprit when it pegs that far high. Can be at the gauge where it clips into the pins on the cluster, the pcb, or a break in the ground wire from the top of the tank near the sending unit to the frame where it...

    JB1 to JB5/JD3 brakes?

So doing some things to the truck and was able to finally get the old girl registered and titled and ready to go on the road this week. Took it for a 5 min ride down the road to the local clam box and noticed something funny with the brakes. Pedal feels fine for about 3 inches or so then gets...

    84 K10 full exhaust replacement

Ran a true dual setup on my 85 K5 Blazer that had the Flowtech headers, Dynomax 89007 2.25" pipe kit and a set of Dynomax Super Turbo's. Loved the sound of the super turbos at idle and wot. Very mild sound at idle and sounded great with some serious throttle on it. Headers can be a mother...

What have you done to your square lately??

Should be the green wire iirc, don't think it varied that much between years tbh.

What have you done to your square lately??

Been a little busy with the truck. Tried to register it, but needed some more paperwork so that's been a fun trip. I've got some down time this week and next. But while I'm waiting on that, been busy cleaning it up a bit and trying a new look and grille on the front of it.

    Finally found some 5x5 Turbines!!!

I know I know lol. Got a really really good offer that I couldn't say no to at the time. Didn't like the big gap at the center bore and found out how pricey the OG Western center caps were eek! Just going to roll with the stock rally rollers once I can find those silly trim rings. And will find...

    Finally found some 5x5 Turbines!!!

Well somebody really really liked the rims more than I anticipated and came through with an offer of 2.5x what I paid for them. So they've been sold and now I'm looking for another set to go on the stepside. Going to keep the rally rims, but need a set for the summer. Have a few options like a...

    Help with rim fitment

Thanks! Figured the -6 would be pretty close in comparison to the stock rallys. The -19-s I think would be a bit too close to the inner fender. Just waiting on the guy with them to get back to me on whether they're the 15x7 or 15x8's. These rims are cheaper than what it's going to cost me to buy...

    Help with rim fitment

Looking at a set of American Racing Nitro AR647 rims to go on to the 83 Stepside. Rims are discontinued so a little hard to find info on them. Owner says they are 5x5 and originally on a 71 Buick Lesabre. Center caps bore is 3.27" and if I'm correct, the 15x7's are a -6mm offset, or 15x8 with a...

    Tailpipe search

Any reputable exhaust shop can do this easily and probably much cheaper than buying it online and having it shipped.

    Gas spilling when filling up

Any chance at all that the return line and vapor/vent line on the sending unit have been mixed up? This could explain why it's only happening when it's being filled up. Maybe the return line on the sending unit is filling with fuel and dumping out the vent line. This would only happen when it's...

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

Before getting all crazy and reconfiguring things and cutting into stuff, have you tried jacking up the front end and with the help of an enlisted friend, try and spin the front wheels while they hold the brakes? This will tell you if you're building any pressure in the front brakes. Also are...

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

That's right, rear of the master feeds the front brakes and front of the master feeds the rears. Check to make sure your proportioning valve is centered.

    Rear Brakes Locking Up

Sounds like either the proportioning valve, or you got your lines crossed somewhere between the master cylinder and proportioning valve. Most of your stopping power comes from the front brakes. With the rears locking up and the fronts not engaging makes me think that's your problem.

Wheel center caps for 3.75" bore

So I installed the Turbines but absolutely not a fan of the rather large center bore in these babies. Mic'd them out to a 3.75" center bore and now I'm looking at center caps to make it a bit more appealing. Found a set on the Lug Nut Guys website here that will fit, but have a chrome finish...

    Saginaw shifter ID?

Nice little 4 spd Saginaw there. Not sure how well it would fit, I've got a 3 spd Saginaw that the PO moved the 3 on the tree to a floor shifter using a vintage Daytona shifter. They removed the bench and put some older buckets out of God only knows what into it. I've since gotten another bench...

Lost Two Gen 3 LS Engines in my 1986 C10 2WD

Don't think DOD/AFM/VVT was available on the gen IV's until 05 iirc on the 5.3, 6.0 or 6.2L. By 07 think they were pretty much in everything, cars and trucks. Buddy of mine is rebuilding an 03 LS 4.8L for his track car and pulled the motor apart first before dropping in into his car. Save...

    Body repair panels

Premium with some sites are a heavier gauge, close to what was offered in an OEM application. I've gotten some aftermarket repops and some oem sheet metal, both of which had to be worked into the vehicle. The right way of doing it is loosening all the bolts as mentioned previously. To get all...

Old school Pioneer head unit, should I or should I not???

Unfortunately dash was already cut by one of the previous owners. So I've got a full face unit there already that has bluetooth capability. Just not old school am/fm/cassette cool.

Old school Pioneer head unit, should I or should I not???

Already tested all 4 channels, LF/LR RF/RR and they all work connected individually and tested with the fader and balance controls. Didn't have them all connected at once, just had the one speaker. All for speakers use a common ground, no RCA connectors and worse part of it all, no battery lead...
