1981 wipers
For the washer motor to engage the switch has to go to ground at the motor. Should be a white and pink wire at the washer. Do you have the standard type wiper motor with the pump at the top with the feed and 2 outlets?- 83Stepper

1980 Starter wires?
Yup, can confirm it's the sending unit from the fuel tank. They ended up running it through the heatshield with the starter wires because it's going from the frame to the wiring loom with the rest of the wiring that ends up going into the cab. Was the same on both my 77 and 83 C10's. Guessing...- 83Stepper

Lol sorry bud, no ill intent there. Edited original post to update it correctly. Have seen many people think it's a timing issue when it's air/fuel related and vice versa. Seen many people try to adjust afr when it's been running for like 3 or 4 mins from a cold start, definitely not even...- 83Stepper

Just checked like every pic I have of my 83 and can't find a single one with the hood release in it. Know the originals had a molded section where they sat behind the kick panel iirc. Those are a bit more of a pita to replace because now you have to take the kick panel off to get to the mounting... -

My 77 Chevy 2wd C10 was the same style cable, ran from the kick panel to the latch at the radiator support. And yes, that's the original mount and cable as shown in the video. -

Still sounds like timing is still off tbh. Once you get past that stumble the mechanical vacuum advance will kick in moving the timing to a more acceptable and running timing advance that won't show the signs like before when it was backfiring etc. Air mixture screws at a starting point like...- 83Stepper

Don't have my truck with me right now, but the replacement cable from 73-80 and 81-87 "should" be the same. LMC shows the same part number for both. Cable should be mounted through the plastic kick panel to the interior metal kick panel with two hex head screws (9/32" socket iirc). Really tight... -
Oil pressure gauge not working
Yeah, usually it's just a bad contact issue, same with like 99.9% of the bulbs in the cluster that seem to work, not work, then work, then not work again. Glad you got it figured out!- 83Stepper

Oil pressure gauge not working
The 3 pins on the back of the gauge are for key on power (IGN), ground, and sender wire. Should be the same on most of the trucks and clusters pre OBD. Yes, you can test for power, continuity on ground and the sender wire. The prongs on the cluster might be different than my 83. Top pin is...- 83Stepper

What's this dohicky
The piston on the master is leaking. Could be any of the piston o-rings weeping by. Or could just simply be something keeping it open. You can always try taking it apart and checking the bore and o-rings for any crud inside of it and putting it back together, or just save time and get a new... -

Hard Line from fuel pump to carb
LMC Truck has them, depending on year and size carb. Standard line that is pretty common between years. 81-87 used a different bend that routed them differently than the 73-80 model years on the sbc. What is this noise after belt change?
Squealing only while moving tells me that it's solely in the driveline related parts Can you tell if it's coming from the front or rear of the vehicle, and 2wd or 4wd? Seat swap to rears from a 2014-2018 Silverado...
Backs fold forward because the bottoms are stationary now. Basically ripped the entire mech off the sides, aside from the hinge mech that allows them to fold forward. The seatbacks hold together tightly because of the angle iron bracket and the bolt in the rear section where you feed the belts... -
What have you done to your square lately??
Finally got around to installing the new rear bench from a 14-18 Silverado, painted the passengers side door, and got a new to me dash installed that doesn't have nearly as many cracks as the original one and installed new front shocks. Still a work in progress, but moving forward. -
Taillight wiring

Yeah, the 6 cyl trucks, mine included, orignially came with the 15x6.5" rallys to the best of my knowledge. Currently have a set of 15x7 up front and a set of 15x8 in the rear, all with the same 3" trim rings.- 83Stepper

Can't remember the last time I saw a set of inserts, do they still make them? But seriously that was the most cost effective way to replace wipers, provided the arms had enough spring left in them. What have you done to your square lately??
Well, it's been a busy-ish last few weeks for me. Rebuilt the Holley and got it tossed back onto the motor. Definitely needed it after not being on the road for 25 years. Got her dialed in, timed, new plugs, cap and rotor and a few test hits down the road. Quick few runs past the statie's house...
